Irish National Anthem

should it be played?

or should both 'irelands call' and 'amhran na bhFiann' be played?

would it keep north and south happy? what you think?

i think both should be played

Cool Danny Boy

I think that Danny Boy must be the most well known Irish song of all times and sung all around the world on St Patricks Day.Lets keep it simple and the crowd can join in.

I think "A Soldiers Song" is a song that was written for another time in history. A time that is less relevant now then it was then. It is a song which does more to divide the north and south then to unite them. It is now time to move on.

Whatever your political persuasion it is more appropriate to sing "Irelands call" when players from the 32 counties are represesting Ireland as a united team.

It is not only common sense it is also an acceptance that sport has the ability to unite us wheras politics is more about division.

In that sense the game results, although important, are less important than the process itself.

Perhaps our teams should all be united.

Dont think that the fields of anthenry would go down too well with some folk although the crowd always sing it.

We played Bowls in Belfast last year and after the match we were having a singalong as all the Welsh like to do and sang it there people walking out of the place. oops

Although it is a good song it was hijacked by extreemists and turned political.

The Glasgow Celtic fans sing it to provoke the Rangers Fans.

It is seen as a Republican song even though the words have nothing to do with the troubles.
