End of the boys club

The end is near if fear. i work in a mainly male work place ( firestation) and when I started back at work this morning there was a sombre mood in the mess room . When I enquired what was up I was told to go and look in the toilets, arrg there it was a womens tampon collection bin.
A sick feeling came over me as I knew what was in store, A female is going to be stationed with us soon. Before you guys start thinking how good is that,if you have seen some of these birds they make the Lb's in LOS look like Ele Mcpherson (opps some do dont they).
So next thing to happen, all girly pics to be taken all walls and lockers, watching your P & Q's no more mention about anything that ends in an O eg lesso's and the like. And the list goes on. Some call this progress, i call it sh#t.
Oh well might make me a better person for it, NOT.
Ps this is my first winge
pps the other fireys here will be haveing a good laugh at this.
Has this happened to any other bm's

She's probably a lesbian so things might get even more raunchier in the fire station. She may even make YOU blush. You might have to get used to talking about pu$$y with another woman. And she may even beat you in arm wrestling. Welcome to the 21st Century.

There have been women serving in the fire brigade in the UK for years. If they weren't up to doing the job, they wouldn't make selection, full stop.

i will say every woman i ever worked with was a pain in the ass

i feel
women bring their home life into work, meaning if they are fighting with their husband or bf they will come in work in a bad mood
i believe women also bring their work home with them

i dont think they can seperate the 2 as well as guys do

Hi Guys,
My point to this post was how much a woman coming to a mostly male work environ can change the atmosphere and the way we have to act. i thought some other Bms might have stories like mine, maybe some funny ones.

From the British press this week :

Avon Fire Service organised five open days - known as "have-a-go" days - this week ,the final one going ahead today at it's Bristol HQ.

Lasting six hours , two sessions were limited to women and ethnic minorities , one to ethnic minorities only and one to women only. Only one was open to all.

........The row comes two years after Avon and Somerset Police admitted that it had illegally rejected nearly 200 job applications from white men because of their race and sex.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Think about it "How would people react if women and black people were banned from an open day ?".

Nowadays it is not always a case of having the best/most qualified 'person' for the job but using "positive discrimination" to ensure that "certain groups" get positions to fill 'quotas'.

Cool The bright side

Tampons can be useful things around a Fire station. They make great polish buffers and can soak up spilled liquids in the mess room.

Thats what going on . I hve to agree with every thing you have said. It is really happening only problem is these days you will be branded a racist/ sexist for speaking out. Very frustrating but will leave this topic now before being branded 555555.

VICTORIA'S top cop Christine Nixon has been knocked back after a rare offer to join the all-male Athenaeum Club.
The Chief Commissioner would have been the first female to break 140 years of tradition at the Collins St club.
But her application stalled, even though she had been a guest or speaker at the conservative club 20 to 30 times.
Ms Nixon was philosophical about the rejection but said: "Times are changing and perhaps the Athenaeum might, as well."
Ms Nixon had been invited by a member to be put forward for membership.
"I was asked if I'd be interested and I said, yes, I would," she told 3AW.
Ms Nixon said she did not intend pursuing the matter.
Yesterday the Athenaeum Club said it would not comment on membership matters.
"This is a private club. Thank you for your interest," a spokesman said.
The club counts trucking magnate Lindsay Fox, Melbourne Archbishop Denis Hart and Governor David de Kretser among its members.
New members are nominated by existing members and approved by the governing committee.
The Athenaeum is one of four elite clubs to emerge from the prosperity of post-Gold Rush Melbourne in the mid-19th century.
The clubs are exempt from membership discrimination laws, which apply only to institutions on Crown land.
The State Government is reviewing the Equal Opportunity Act but any changes may not specifically tackle the issue of men-only clubs, Attorney-General Rob Hulls' spokeswoman, Meaghan Shaw, said.
Mr Hulls has been critical of the conservative clubs in the past, describing them as "crusty and outdated".
"Any club that wants to attract members and be seen to be innovative and welcoming would be foolish to exclude 51 per cent of the population from their eligibility criteria," Ms Shaw said.
Annual membership of Melbourne's elite clubs is not advertised but is believed to be between $1000 and $2000.
The Melbourne Club at the top end of Collins is regarded having the most prestige.
Its membership list includes former prime minister Malcolm Fraser, Olympics administrator Kevan Gosper and medical scientist Sir Gustav Nossal.
The city also has two women-only clubs -- the Lyceum and the Alexandra.
The Naval and Military Club in Little Collins St opened its doors to young businesswomen and men 15 years ago to revive a flagging membership base.
