American Idol
i think this show gets a bad rap
i really enjoy it. the thing is, i love all genres of music so i love to see what songs the different singers will pick for what generation
i also think that the singers in these last competitions are legitmiate singers and head and shoulders above the talent when the show 1st started

mrs loves this show. in HD it is a real a/v treat. great production value.
find it quite boring compared to the year daultry was on it. often checking out blog feeds while the show is running.
Agree that david kid is really owning it. at first I wasn't sure if he was real, but I think he is just a sweet innocent kid. There is something about him that makes me think Rick Astley. next week should be 80's so maybe he will belt out "never going to give you up" and I can see if my random thoughts are on target.
The aussie guy is quite good as well (aside from last night).
The judges are board this year and really just putting on a show.

That uber feminine gay kid really looks like the girl dressed as a guy in 'She's The Man'
that movie sucked because I thought she totally looked way to female to ever pull it off. But now this guy looks completely like her.Talk about born in the wrong body.

I'd say more feminine than gay. We're pretty sure they should just put him on a plane over here to get some additional touch-ups and silicon (looks like there is already some chin work). He'd/she'd do quite well in the miss ladyboy competition.

I'm not at all saying he is straight. saying same as you that he is more woman than gay man. funny seeing it on us tv vs some thai show.
Just saying he seems prefect for one of the ladyboy training programs. He could skip the awkward wear make-up while working at the 7-11/starbucks stage and go right to the cabaret level.

True,Carrie Underwood is good in Country and Kelly Clarkson not bad either but I reckon Daughtry has potential to be a major superstar ..........an all-round genuine talent..........

Oh ok Nels but is that for acting or singing?
I'm not sure if I've heard one of her hits but maybe they're played on different genre radio stations....................Daughtry's being played on mainstream rock/pop stations around the clock at the mo'.........2 songs in fact.MTV etc too....
But then again my definition of true talent might be a bit skewed.I don't have much time for Britney Spears etc.......but still very popular and big selling

As far as I'm concerned the standard of music/artists has really declined since the 80/90's..................become much more of a sausage machine factory churning out hit after unforgettable hit.
I'd much rather see a return to more artists writing their own songs and playing some instruments than what we see the majority of these days......which a lot of the times are remixes of past hits.Where are the artist's who consistently put out brilliant stuff year after year?
Britney Spears...........what a joke
Of course there are exceptions but they're pretty thin on the ground....

The point of my post was that kids don't want to take the time to learn to play instruments anymore. They pretend with fake guitars and computers now. There's a hilarious South Park episode about this.
I've been playin guitar since I was 13.
