SirDougless is no longer a hansum man
Had my face re-arranged in the pub last night. Standing at the bar minding my own business with half a glass of wine in front of me. In walks a bloke, grabs my wine and skulls it. I look at him in amazement and say "What the fcuk!" He then tries to head butt me which I fend off but then I cop a fist in the eye and another in the mouth. Not sure if I managed to connect with him. He ran off before anyone could bring him down.
I looked quite a treat. Shirt covered in blood (I'm on blood thinners so I bled easily). The staff reckon he was high on drugs. Wrong place at the wrong time!
Don't think anything is broken and I still have my teeth, but I'm sporting two bloodied fat lips and a shiner. At least it's sunny in Sydney today and I won't look like an idiot wearing sunglasses.
Anyway, time to hop back on the horse ...

Yes drugs, but also large amounts of alcohol, can make people do very bad things.
I wish you a quick recovery.

Sorry to hear about being attacked.
It amazing how some people can turn violent for no apparent reason.
Sound like it could have been much worse and hopefully you will return to hansum status again soon.

Sorry to hear that man. That really sucks. Unfortunately it can happen anywhere..USA, LOS etc.
Not sure if this is proper, but where were you when it happened? Not that I want to black ball anyplace(not the intention), I just want to place in the back of my mind that it has happened there before and to be aware.

Not sure if naming the place is relevant MM, the guy sounds like he was either out of it and mistook SirD for someone else, or had a personal gripe against him. Neither of my assumptions are based on anything SirD, other than its unusual for a totally unprovoked attack without some reason in his befuddled head, perhaps the guy mistook you for someone else, or maybe it was just jealousy of your handsome looks!!!

I saw the thread title and was gonna make a wise ass remark.. But wont add to your misery..
Random senseless stuff like this always winds me up.. I at least understand the 'why' when someones trying to mug etc.. Its a for profit thing. Stuff like this is just pure fools.
I always found the UK pretty brutal for this kind of stuff.. Outside the kebab shop after pub chuck out etc... War zone sometimes.

Will be living London this time next week can't wait! 55555
Not looking forward to that. Not to hijack a thread, but any helpful advice in living there will be appreciated. Very hesitant to start a London thread on a LOS board.

SD, surely you are not mentioning something else here? I'm not saying that what you wrote is not factually correct, but perhaps you are omitting a few details...

No, not omitting any details! As one of my managers said "For someone that spends so much time in a bar it was bound to happen." There have been a number of times when I would have deserved it but this wasn't one of them.
As to the location - it wasn't the pubs fault so it's not for me to name it (nor in my interests!). It is actually my home and a few of you know it and one has had the pleasure (?) of having a few soft drinks there. It is probably one of the safest pubs to have a drink in The Rocks. Just bad luck on my part because I usually never stand at that part of the bar (ie closest to the door).
Anyway, thanks for the concern everyone. I'm thinking of selling up and moving to Kamala. It must be safer there ...

Still happens, but I have seen a vast improvement since the licensing hours were extended. No more 5000 people coming out of several near bars/pubs all going to the nearest kebab, taxi etc. So Massmouse should be alright till he speaks................
All the best Sir D. HAs happened to me in the past, not a nice experience and after you can just wonder "Why me?" I wish you a quick recovery!
