I never knew there is a 7's tournament in Phuket. Out of interest when and where is it exactly?

I would love to go and watch and maybe before, play. But im just lucky im well enough now to just be able to go to los. Though of course liquid refreshment throughout is a nessecity.

G'day Sishow. This is the 2nd year the tournament has been run. Its on the weekend of 27,28 November. This year its being held at the Karon Stadium down by the beach. I understand this ground may have been used in the last week for the FIFA Under 19 Womens World Championship, so should be nice to play on.

There are approx 25 teams entered from all over the world. Games are fast and furious 10 min halves, with no offsides. Plenty of action. Games kick off at 9am and run all through the day.

There is a web site you can read up about it and check out the teams entered

http://www.soccer7s.reperages-thaila...uket/index.php

On that page there is a link for individual players to register where you can get joined up with another team if there are vacancies, and there usually is. So you might be able to play if your interested.

Cheers!

Thanks for the info and and the link.

By total luck i get there a couple of days before. So i should be there to watch (If i remember to get out of bed and/or away from hugging the toilet.).

If i would of known about this, i might of even tried not to hurt my back a month or so ago, or even tried to get fit! So only watching or at least drinking is all i'll be able to do. Though i would of been proper shit, as the last time i played was at university which was years ago now.

Thanks again for the info! I'll buy you a singha or two if i see you around Patong.

Your welcome sishow. Maybe youll get a chance some other time. Believe me its a reasonable standard but certainly anyone can have a go, a true amateur comp. Our team last year was a real rag tag bunch, with players in their 30's, 40's and 50's. All fitness levels. Myself i hadnt played in 3 years. The main thing is to have fun and combine a love of sport with a love of phuket.

Oh that and try and not pull a hamstring in the first 10 minutes.

I also arrive a couple of days beforehand on the 24th nov, and will be dropping by MTB to meet a few BM's and say gday to nicke.
