Not just LOS

Most of the BM's know the a lot of TG/BM's think of us as walking ATM's.

Well l was watching a doco on Oz TV a few weeks ago that l found quite interesting.

It was a story about a mother and daughter. The mother (Father an ex US Marine) who is Vietamnese gave her daughter away as an orphan during the Vietnam war (not sure exactly what year it was) Any way the daughter ended up with an American family (she was given up at about aged 5) and was of course raised as an American in an average American town/suburb whatever.

The maker of the doco then organised for her to fly back to Vietnam to be reunited with her mother and siblings.....many brothers and sisters....well everything was tears etc for the first day...girl was overwhelmed meeting all her relatives, some of them for the first time etc. Then on day two came the requests for $$$$, well this lass was gobsmacked...one scene showed her meeting a half sister for the first time and being squeezed for $$$$ after about 5 minutes.

So the money thing l guess is really an Asian issue and not just LOS, as they see all us Westerners as lucky enough to have $$$$ so why can't we share some with them......especially if we are family or lovers !

Doco showed the family talking together plotting the best way to extract monry from her etc.....ie saying that they should back off a bit, let her feel more comfortable with the surroundings and then put the squeeze on again.....in the long run they could not understand why she was not willing to help....they considered that quite offensive.

The girl just freaked out after about 4 days and cut her visit short, quite sad really, mind you she had been transformed a small Viet girl into a fat ugly drama queen......she just brushed them all off......and when back in US, she said that she could never she herself going back, and had not answered any letters from her "new" family.......she is even estranged from her adopted US mother.

I know first hand how much pressure some families can place on a girl.. My poor lady had so much strife from a family that basically abandoned her as a child..

She was the one that said no to them and made them back off us as a couple.. A little and some assistance is ok in my books but her family were really a bunch of snakes.

the girl i stay with, her family is really bad too. i understand helping out mama who takes care of her baby,but all her brothers want money too. first they made her marry a thai guy because he gave them money, then after he kicked the shit out her, they kinda pressured her to go work in the bar. i was in her village and the father got angry that we were going to the zoo and he had to go to work! i try and persuade her to get stronger and say no more

From what l have read on Stickman, you will have a tough job on your hands.
