Science/Technology Opportunties

Okay, so any halfwit can buy a forged TEFL certificat and get a job in Thailand paying peanuts, but are there any serious opportunities for English-speaking scientists/technicians etc. (medical/cinical research/teaching) in Universities and what would they pay? Anyone tried it?
