Remote PC access

A common problem we have living in Thailand, and that is accessing some internet sites.

Have just found, installed and used a neat little program, basically a web front end to citrix. Install the server on the remote PC and then you connect with 2 levels of authentication. You can even set it so only certain phone numbers can connect.

Works like a charm. Had adsl on the server and the client was dialup, was alittle slow but usable. Can image if asdl on both, then would be very responsive. Remember though when using citrix, always make sure the server doesnt have any wallpaper as this dramatically slows down the link.

Without checking your link I assume you mean the guardians of impropriety that is CAT ???

Forget proxies and try a very easy to use proggie called Ghostsurf platinum... runs through (multiple) invisible proxies and is so transparent to the end user (will auto config IE etc) that it is well worth using.. Much easier that the manual proxy chaining I have tried and AFAI Can Tell leaves no footprints I can work back from..

As for citrix.. Last time I heard them was mainframes a LONG time ago... I remember running cable looms around dirty old beasts like that for work experience..

Have been using ghostsurf, seems to work but they can still track you to the connect port.

I have always hated citrix, but this little gem of an app works wonderful. Obviously you need a remote PC outside the country, and for certain work issues, is ideal for me. Nothing is keep or ever brought into the country.
