So come on someone, I also want to know how does Laos compare to Thailand for entertainment, people, cost, bg etc??

I've decided over the next year I fancy visiting all the countries surrounding Thailand to get a good feel for the whole area and as my geography is so poor get all excited by finding out places are real close I didn't know were there.

Vientiane Capital of Laos

A few years ago i did a visa run to the capital Of Laos, a beautiful city called Vientiane; full of french colonial arcitecture and lovely wide boulevards although forget the night life because at that time (2003) the curfew kicked in at 11.00pm-5.00am and was heavily policed.

Laos is still under communism, so not for me as those stupid rules also spoilt my 1998 holiday to Cuba.
