Anyone here play online poker tournaments?

Hello Members,

Just wondering if any of you play online poker tournaments? I'm abover average poker player ( well according to statics ), never play online poker much but have been successful. I started with $ 100 usd at a very popular online poker site and now I have a balance of $975. Well I will continue, maybe it'll pay for my next BKK trip lol

I think it was a polite post, just trying to help. Sarcasm was not necessary.

I play online poker everyday since a year and a half now.
mainly money games cause that's where the money is tourney are cool once every other days ( I prefer sit n' go ).
I paid most of my last travel to LOS with poker money
Quite easy to win 15-20 bucks a day playing for one or two hours a day.

Being a decent winner in online poker ( 1500-3000 bucks/month ) must be quite confortable if you live in thailand.

Wrong forextrading, this is from phuketgazette.

Is online poker in Thailand illegal?
I am a professional poker player who travels a lot, but mostly I play poker online. I was thinking about living in Phuket from September to April as I have been visiting a lot since 1994 and really like the people and the climate.

This would not be possible if there was no way for me to play poker online from servers placed elsewhere in the world. Is it illegal to play online in Thailand?

“It is legal if you play online poker for entertainment only, but illegal under Thai law to play for even small amounts of money. Every online game played for money is illegal in Thailand. ”

Any bet in Thailand is illegal...

I actually have been meaning to torture whoever the gazette can find with its issues and answerts because online spread bettign the markets is considered illegal and betting.. but options / futures trading (If I took a future on a market index it would be exactly the same as a spread bet) is legal..

When it comes down to it ANY share purchase is 'betting' that the price of the share will rise instead of fall (as long as your not shorting the stock).. So how is that not gambling..

In fact when it actually comes down to it almost any investment into any business (especially in Thailand) is a gamble.. Does this mean I cant gamble with buying a bar..

The law is mad.. The same idiocy and poorly worded de3finitions apply to thier definition of 'working' in Thailand..

I guess that they view purchase of shares as an investment. Options/futures are much more risky (hence considered a gamble) with a better return if you get it right, but they still consider them as an investment? When the option/future matures, you could end up buying the number of shares in a company (but not index).

Spread betting (I believe) is popular with traders in the UK, as once someone has used up their £8k capital gains allowance, they turn to spread betting as it is a gamble and tax free.

Do they have raffles in LOS, or is this considered gambling?

I have an account with Partypoker
I have a lap top
I visit Thailand :
Playing in my hotel
Playing in the Hotel Lounge with my laptop.

HOW ON EARTH WOULD THE THAI GOVERNMENT have any idea when im depositing and withdrawing from my U.S bank account transaction?

I am not saying you will get caught... I am saying that its illegal..

If you lived here and pissed someone off or ruffled some faethers its not uncommon to get grassed up for minor offenses (and the MIB paid or they simply keep a % of the fine) and they can visit..

Also if you think that the internet is anonymous you are very mistaken..
