Nakhon Sawan and surrondungs

Hi,

as many know me by now - seems I am getting somewhere???
Girl asked me to visit her now at her home in Nacon Sawan. So I booked ticket SG - BKK. She will be waiting for me and 1 night in BKK.
Then 9 days Nakhon Sawan.
Never been there. Any tips? Sights?
She is good, very good!!! - but not from MTB - sooo sorry
She also stopped working in bars 2 months ago - I checked and know!!!

Also good hotel for 1 night BKK and may be car rental?

She already visited me in SG!!!

Thanks,
Wolf

I think Nakhon Sawan is the place known for those tasty cookies. I drove through there on my last trip on my way back from Kamphaeng Phet...got pulled over and searched by the police at one of their inspection places along the highway just outside the city.

I always rent cars from budget. They deliver to and pickup from your hotel so that saves you some headache. Also you can easily book with them online.

I like Nakhon Sawan, it's where the wife comes from and I have been a few times. There is everything you need, BigC, decent internet access, a few good bars (no 'bar scene' though), and it's very food orientated; you will eat well up there.

The area is interesting, it's where the 3 rivers converge to form the Chao Praya, and they have one of the bigeest night food markets in Thailand. There is plenty to point your camera at. I will try and find a few pictures.

If you get a chance got to Wat Khao, it's the one on the hill up all the steps. I have links to a good article if you want, PM me.

If you need a hotel the Pimarn is the best situated in the city, will cost you around 800baht a night and has a roof terrace with a fantastic big screen if there is a game on.

You will very likely find that you spend around roughly half what you would in Bangkok.

I was also in Nakhon Sawan just the other day, stayed at the Pimarn, nothing special, but a typical good value regional hotel. Loads of good food as said, wish I'd had more time to look around, looked like one of the nicer Thai towns I have been in.

Well, I will actually stay at her home and no need for hotel in Nacon. But thanks for the tips, just in case I need a hotel.

To IJ: I don't know if you know her but she was not working in Soi Eric at all and since I met her she was only working in Bangla for a few days, spent time with me in Phuket and 1 week after I went back to SG she came to visit me for 10 days - then went back to Nacon and was now in Kata for 1 week and goes back in 2 days. Not more working in Patong. But I do not wanna say much more details.

Cheers,
Wolf
