Hua Hin Hotel
Need a nice place for a couple of nights..
Would be good to be central ish and would help to have parking spaces provided.. Clean and friendly service a must but dont need high end flash.. Only there a couple of days so pool etc is not high on the list either.
Anyone has a favourite spot let me know and I will dig them out and check.

My room mate has told me of PP villa..
Pool, clean, balcony, directly central and should be +-1000 this time of year..
Sounds like thats my first hit.. Then I need something in BKK thats near Soi 23 and has car parking.. Reckon the Parkview (not GF but will be with spinner) or Tai Pan.. Both down there and I think they both have some guest parking. Both a step away from cowboy.

my 1st time i stayed in HH
we stayed at the Royal Navy Hotel(the actual naval hotel)
plenty of parking for your car and easy tuk-tuk to the bars and restaurants
really clean, big rooms and a huge pool right on the water
plus, if you are with Spinner, she will get a huge kick out of the fact you are staying in the compound overlooking the King's compound
Navy Hotel Hua Hin
and im pretty sure you can get it for 50% of those rates

I stayed at the Thipurai City Hotel too.
Great location, really friendly staff, seems popular with the German tourists, not really a mongers hotel but I didnt have a problem taking a different girl back each day (dont that it is important in your situation).
Room was on the small size, but not a problem for me. Breakfast was okay (German oriented).
A bit pricey when I was there in December, but I enjoyed my time there.

Am still trying to figure out which hotel to take in Hua Hin. I have looked at the site of Thipurai City Hotel :: the friendly deluxe hotel. as Talbot man recommended.
On a Dutch site they also speak highly of the Lengs Guesthouse see at hotel in hua hin thailand leng guesthouse hotell
Does anybody know this one? It is close to the Marriot it seems, but I don't really know how long it will take you to get to the center area.
Looking forward to your input. Thanks guys.

Nanook, my recollection is that the Leng Guesthouse is about ~400 metres south of where I was staying at the Thipurai. The night market area would be a further 200-300 metres north on top of this, so around 600-700 metres from Leng GH to the markets in a northerly direction.
The nightlife bars are very close to Thipurai, so you would be around ~500 metres from them.

Ended up in the Thipurai BTW which was nice except for banging doors, had to red card an indian family in rooms next door for noise.

Thanks Mate. But since I will be going with my Tilak, so I don't have to be very close to the bars and 500m is still an easy stroll. The night Market is probably of more interest (for her!).
I am now just doubting between Thipurai, Leng and Jing.....

i have stayed 2 times at the leng guesthouse IT HAS GOOD AND BAD POINTS first the good its bang right next to the best stretch of beach in huahin with an excellent beer bar on the beach with good cheap food, 2) there is a big swim pool which is used by 5 differnet hotels but 90% of the time you get it all to yourself 3) the thai family who run the place are very nice the guy especially , nothing is to much trouble for him he seems to do all the jobs himself .
bad point its a 20 minute casual stroll to huahin centre or you can get a motor bike taxi at road end for 20 bhat. at end of night when you are pissed you cant be bothered with that walk so you are at the mercy of the greedy taxi drivers !
considering leng guesthouse and thippurai are about the same price per night i would say definately thippurai is your best bet .

with all of these misunderstandings it could be that you just walk a little slower than most of us big fella.....

i used to walk into town most nights although huahin is one of the few places i felt safe sitting on the back of a motorbike taxi i certainly would not do it in bangkok or pattaya. could never quite motivate myself to walk home so always took a taxi back .
having discussed the distance from areca to 2nd road with my 2 mates they both agree with me 100% that its too far away from the main bhat bus route especially if you are going south in fact my mate paul was booked to stay there for 7 nights but he moved out after 4 because he was pissed off about all the walking involved

Thanks for the advice, Talbotman. I will go for Thippurai first. If full I may try Jing and then Leng.
