OK working again.
Its a math problem (obviously).. With a small trick to keep you playing.
Any 2 digit number can be reduced into a multiple of nine by doing the math it asks you to do.. Try it by doing the math with any set of 2 digit numbers.. Do the math and you see that every possible result has to be a multiple of nine.
Any 2 digit number can be expressed as A * 10 + B.
For 73 A=7, B=3 now the equation / puzzle requests that we subtract the sum of a and b from the number, a*10 + b - (a + b), which becomes A * 9 if you reduce it...
Therefore it's a multiple of nine... once you can deduce that every answer is a multiple of 9 it becomes obvious.
The smart / tricky part is the flash game shows you a bunch of glyphs.. But if you look every multiple of nine in the table is the same glyph.. The game also is clever in that it randomizes which glyph is displayed as the 9 multiples so you can keep playing it over and over and still get new glyph each time yet still always be a 9 multiple.
Simple really..
