Red face Flights from KL to HKT

Hi Gents!

Arriving in Kuala Lumpur on the 14th of February. Looking forwad to fly out from KL on the 15th middaytime. Whats the best deal from KL to HKT? Air-Asia has some good deals on flights but seen other people on the board complaining about their reliability with flight times. Any clues? Maybe other Airlines?

thx,

Hi Stevem!

Thanks for your reply. Have just been looking on the MAL Homepage. I will look for flights when im in KL rather than book now. I also have seen a Airline that flies out from KL's old Airport to BKK and HKT daily. Will check them out too. Cant wait to hit the streets of KL on the 14th. Check out the new Club Venues. Heard only good things about them. Not Beach Club doh. hehe

"just found out the name: the old airport is named "Subang" Airport"

Who is that operates those flights?? The old Subang airport has basically rundown operations, and only general aviation and some domestic turbo prop flights and MH maintenance exist there now. Thank god, it was a dump.

They were looking at using it for low cost carrier operations, but that got knocked back due to local resident opposition.

To my knowledge, they do KL to Samui, Tioman and a few other smaller Malaysian islands. Just checked out their website

hmmm... wrong info then from my friend... seen they do singapore flights too but only on special occasions... have to stick with air-asia or malaysian then. just thinking of maybe dumping my flight plans. go with train to butterworth (georgetown) and goin by boat to langkawi - cross boarder in satun and take boat to krabi-phi-phi -phuket. only worries are the time that it takes... prolly 2 more days.....

I fly frequently...in fact all the time using airasia to Phuket...afternoon flight and had experienced no cancellation but there were a couple of times they were late in departure (10 - 30 min) but which airline does not experience this? MAS and Airasia has a flight a day to Phuket. Airasia is cheaper but you must book early.

Subang Airport is used for chartered flights and not schedule flights...Berjaya uses this airport to fly to Koh Samui every Tuesday and Thursday and on other days to Pangkor and Tioman Islands. There are also another airline..couldn't recall which uses this airport..also chartered flights.

Why don't you book now? You can book over the internet and using your credit card you can pay for the flight. I do this all the time. Go to their website: www.airasia.com

You should have no problem getting the tickets as 15 feb is low season in Malaysia...KL - Phuket should be cheaper than before.

Cheers

M

Hi Malaysian!

Im aware of this. The thing is i will be meeting an old friend in KL that lives and works there. Im sure things will get out of hand cause we planned alot for the evening(s?) so booking in advance is maybe not the best option for me. Good to hear its low season in Malaysia so im sure i will find some flight from MAL or Air-Asia to Phuket in between the 15th and 19th

I also thought about dumping the flight plans and maybe take a nice trip by bus or train all the way up to the thai boarder. Usually those trips are never overbooked and fairly cheap too. But then again. I will decide when im in KL and things starts rollin.

Thanks for all the tipps.

cheers,
