Is there a dress code for these places.Will be in KL for 5 days on 20 December and would like to know if need to wear trousers or if shorts/Flip flops(thongs) are OK?

No dress code. Wear what you like.

I was in the Beach club and that Thai place directly across the road from it last sept.

The drink is expensive... Bring plenty of money!

Hmmm. As far as I can remember it was between 20 and 25 RG's for a beer (Pints and 33cl bottles... I was drinking both at different stages.)

5 (ish) rg's to the euro. I just remember spending a heap of money one night and only had what seemed like a few beers (But might have been a lot too

). Then again I was used to Thai prices.

Don't know about shots...

Beach club/Thai club is not a problem but if you go to e.g. Zouk (Techno club) then they are more strict. You should wear trousers and normal shoes, not flip flops. (I was denied entry once due to the latter)

I was there (Beach club KL) a few days ago, no dress code, but drinks are very expensive one night I pay 28 RG's for a beer, and another night they charge me 35 RG's !!! for same kind of beer
Girls are expensive to from 350-500RG's per night!!!

i go to bc once a week :-)
happy hour everyday till 9 pm but usualy raise prices at 20.50 already.
i always buy a bucket of carlsberg. some (chinese) guys buy 2 to 3 buckets each at happy hour so they are settled for whole evening. they refill the buckets with ice...
happy hour: 5 bottles 50 ringit. 1 bottle 9 (i think)
later: 4 bottles 68 ringit, 1 bottle 19
bottle of bombay saphire 318 ringit (used to be way cheaper)
cover charge from 9.30 or 10 pm: 28 ringit incl. one drink
if you buy bottle at entrance no cover charge for up to 6 people
waiters often don't give back change to drunk people.
noman, you shouldn't ruin the prices here ;-)
i would usualy pay 200, max. 250 for stunner

I love the beach club but the drink are way too expensive indeed. Luckily a shot of tequila is the same price as one beer so getting hammered doesn't have to be that expensive
