hi nautilus,

don't get me wrong, the place is nice. stylish and good views plus quite a brezze up there. better than lunabar which can be too hot.
as i said, not many single ladies there but was thursday so maybe have to
check on weekend again.
about carnegies, have no idea. last time i went there it was "very indian".
how is ladies night these days? only FL or regular girls also??it's wednesdays, right?
and what about "the pub"? i think can remember that you wrote they have cheapest happy hour!
cheers

Hey Dr.M, i might give the Skybar a try this weekend. Luna Bar is really hot. Not my kinda place.

The Pub at Shangrila happy hour is from 5pm to 8pm, the good thing is you can park as many as you want before the last call.

Buy 1 Free 1 for Guinness Draught and Carlsberg, house pouring liquor and wine.

The beers are priced at RM 28++ for Buy 1 Free 1, so about RM 14++ per Pint, i think that's a good deal, not sure bout price of mug, i only drink in Pints. At least not some watered down beer. I leave just before the LIVE Band starts playing at 9.00pm

Carnegie's, haven't been there for a long time, i drove past it this morning and saw a different name. Ladies night is Wednesday if not mistaken, free champagne for the ladies. Mostly office crowd, weekends are better.

Cheers.

Very detailed report Dr. M.

May be in K.L. in the coming weeks. What is the happening place right now? Assume during the week.

nautilus,
"the pub" sounds good, cheap, lah :-)
will try that one soon.

ATM,
during the week it's better to stick to downtown, i think.
beach club, thai club, hard rock for p4p
in the same street where bc is you can walk towards klcc.
on the left there is a new place called "aloha". went there twice but too early( 9 to 10pm)
was full of chinese. mostly mixed groups. many people but not very easy to get contact, maybe gets more going in later hours.
bit further is "rum jungle", about the same like aloha but i think more ladies, also malay girls and FL there
this street is very busy every night. just drove by yesterday @ 1.00 am and saw heaps of people so it's probably the easiest option as you can walk from one bar to another
wednesdays is ladies night in qbar @ westin hotel, worth a visit, also more stylish than the other places but you need taxi (5 min. ride)
for weekend i would recommend "asian heritage row" for a change. many higher class bars there. it's next to sheraton hotel.
clubs: bar savanh, loft.
bars: wine room, mojo
many more bars there but these 4 i went already and they are good.
it's possible to pick up regular, stylish girls there...
weekdays you can also go to "isolated bars" like lunabar, skybar, zetabar(in hilton kl sentral).
these 3 are all stylish but you never know whether they are busy/ ladies available.
if you have lady with you these 3 bars are very good, especially luna and sky cause of the views

have fun!

Dr.M, mayb we can meet up for beer one day at The Pub. Oo parking there is RM 8 per entry after 7pm. Else park somewhere and walk to the Shangrila.

ATMwalking, the Formula #1 will be coming to KL in a couple of weeks time, i believe the week of April 18th,hotels are gonna be expensive.

Of course lots of activities planned.

BMW will have their annual party outside of Mandarin Oriental, adjacent to KLCC.

Let us Kuala Lumpur BMs know when you get here, we can meet up.

My least favorite places...

Just want to have a drink without being creeped out. Before there was a huge disco close to hard rock with lots of hot looking Chinese-Malay girls to look at and great music, but it was closed down on my last visit. Want to visit the happening spots for locals in KL, not the usual tourist places.

The other places you and Nautilus mention sound good.

Close to Hard Rock? Errr, from one side that would be Zouk. Other side onwards would be TwelveSi.

There are some nice Irish Pubs also, quiet, friendly, cosy.

The Greenman is a nice place to enjoy drinks.

The Green Man Pub and Restaurant - Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia

There is a Salsa Club in Westin Hotel also....only been there once.

Would have been Zouk. Was a cool place with the little sub-bars as well. What is the biggest disco there now?

The biggest? Erm, i think that would Ruums index

I went there for Tata Young's Showcase Concert.

Next to Ruums is a Sports Bar, by the name of Legends, the bartender claims to be Thai owned.

Zouk is nice during Mambo Jambo nights, usually on Wednesdays.

Velvet at Zouk is class and expensive. I wont spend that amt of money just to go in.

Send a message via ICQ to Nicke
ATM,

Give Ruums a visit, I liked the place myself and the music is of the kind you never hear in Phuket. They have people all days of the week, Zouk is only on wednesdays or weekends, other days dead.

I will check out the other options mentioned here on my next visit in May.

Yeap, Ruums got promotions and activities daily.

Nice disco for late night clubbing.

Nicke, did you go to the Heritage Row, next to the Sheraton Imperial? There are many nice bars there, and lots of pretty girls.

Asian Heritage Row / The New Asian Trend
