I dont drink Carlsberg. Only drink Tiger or Guinness in KL

Well to be honest that was a thought that crossed my mind, the fact that Malaysia and KL are predominantly Muslim and would need not only a License to sell but a license to brew also i'd imagine...
I like Guiness also but i find it doesn't taste the same as back home, Muddy Murphys probably the best pint i've had .

Yeap, we have 2 Breweries only now, Carslberg and Guinness Anchor Berhad, you can see them on the Federal Highway.
The Guinness i had at the Penny Black, Boat Quay and Scruffy Murphys, East Coast taste different fr those in KL. They chill the barrels in Singapore right? I dont know the correct term or name of the technique. I dont really like it, not that creamy anymore, taste more icy.

If their "misunderstanding" with Khun Charoen (richest man in Thailand, owner of Chang and other) is solved maybe.
In the meantime drink Beer Lao, 50% owned by Carsberg / 50% Lao Government.

What has being Muslim got to do with anything ?? Malaysia is not dry, not are Muslims.

Seeing as Brewerkz is all about brewing their own beer on the premises, needing 2 licences would hardly come as a surprise now would it ??

Get out of bed the wrong side did we
Can't say i've seen groups of muslims drinking in Brewerkz before and KL would not be any different, its not good for Muslims to be seen drinking in public...
If truth be known there are probably a dozen licenses they require to operate such an large enterprise....
But what would i know..... you seem to be the expert (as usual)......

Masterwoodsman seems to understand some of the weird laws in a Muslim country.
It's not as simple as it looks just to open a Brewery here, else it would have been done LONG LONG time ago.

Thankyou, its nice to know there ARE other people with some knowledge about this topic, rather than just shooting off for the sake of being obnoxious....
Nautilus..... not been to KL for a while, is the Beach Club still operating ? Had some fantastic times in there, good band, hot chicks and the baby sharks !!!

Nope, there are bars in Malaysia and being a predominantly Muslim country, they do drink, hence my comment.
If you really have spent as long as you claim to have done in Singapore and also Thailand, then you would already know this wouldn't you ?
As for your other comments, go and ruffle someone else's feathers.

I'm not "ruffling anyones feathers" i'm just making some valid points to which another BM agrees.... so if you can't take a little critism then.......
well i wont say anything else as you're obviously a bit sensitive
Don't worry i also felt the stress whilst working in singers

Masterwoodsman, the Beach Club is still there. I dont go to KL often, so i dont havt any updates on the night scene there.
Seriously, opening a micro brewery here aint easy at all.
The German Pub i used to go dont even carry any more German Beers due to the high import tax.
Pubs selling imported beers by Barrels charge about MYR 30 a pint.
Sin Tax (Alcohol) goes up every year.
Guess how much Brewerkz will charge for a pint then?
The market is so dominated by Carlsberg and Tiger.
Unlike in Singapore where different pubs sell different beers. Some at afforadable low price. The German Pub in Holland Village sells Erdinger. Some sell Hoegarden on tap.
Only beers i have seen on Tap in KL are Tiger, Carlsberg, Guinness. The not so common ones Kilkenny, Old Specken Hen, Hoegarden(only seen in 1 bar) Strongbow. All these at very high price.
Muslims do drink. Everybody knows that. I have seen pubs chase them out cause they arent suppose to drink in public and the Pub will risk getting closed or fined.

Anybody coming to Sing should try the "Brix" bar under the Hyatt Hotel - very nice place with some stunning ladies, very expensive tho......555555555

A great venue indeed $16 sing entry fee inc 1st drink last time i was there
usually a good live band on but as you say expensive as the "ladies" are regarded as high class w***** but you get what you pay for as is always the case...
I prefer Bar None basement of Marriott corner of Scotts and Orchard Rd... no working girls as such but some cracking local talent, great band and an excellent atmosphere.... better to get there around 11pm..
