Cabana Inn KL
Anyone stayed in the Cabana Inn? It's opposite Beach Club and behind Thai Club so ideally located :-) Looks ok on the website at around RM180 a night. Wondering if the in-house Spa provides those little extras?

Probably there will be extras. If not you can always go to the SPA at the Life Center, Spa D Palace. Nice big SPA.

It's not an issue at the Concorde at least. Just breeze in.

I would say most hotels in KL are guest friendly, probably they dont question you. Even Shangri-la is ok with outside guest.

Found the Cabana suited my needs perfectly at RM158 a night for a Deluxe room. They also do shorttime rates...RM58 for 3 hours.
Location is excellent. Above the Thai Club and so just 30 yards across the road from the Beach Club. No problem bringing a lady over. I did sample a Vietnamese :-) They were just about all starting at RM300 ST but would then come down to 200 or 250. Beware the "Jack Sparrow" lookalike barman in there though. Give him RM30 for a RM26 beer and he takes a VERY long time to come back with your change...like he's hoping you'll get fed up waiting and just go off.
I did try the spa in the Cabana. RM10 for unlimited use of Sauna/Steamroom and Jacuzzi but didn't try the massage.

Im considering the Cabana for a few nights next month. Did you book through their website or just turn up and hope for the best?

I never book hotels. Always just turn up. Stayed in the Concorde round the corner before. Ok it's decor is better, it's bigger and more upmarket than the Cabana...but I don't need all those extra trimmings and Cabana is half the price. The money saved you can spend across the road :-) Good clean room, good location and tea/coffee making facility is all I need.
If you don't know where it is...take the monorail from the LRT station near KL Sentral to Bukit Nanas...then 5 minute walk past Hard Rock and Concorde, up another 300 metres and left at X-roads and there you are.
Straight up the road from Cabana again it's only 5 minutes to walk to the Suria Mall under the Petronas Towers. Stacks of good cafes/restaurants in there...excellent food court on about the 4th floor? with Malay/Thai/Chinese food. Internet shop on the ground floor near Tower Records...RM8 per hour...open 10 - 10.

Typing this from my room in the Concorde as we speak, fly home to Singapore tomorrow. I like this place, but as the company is paying, the rate's not an issue.
The Beach Club is rocking gently with plenty of girls, but is still getting raided by the police/immigration at weekends. The only change now is that the police are taking RM2000 backhanders to let the girls go. Before, that wasn't an option, it was straight to the KL Hilton, so I suppose it's an improvement. The downside is that as it's an easy earner, the raids will continue. Methinks the BC owner isn't paying enough tea money!

Thanks for this thread, it has been very useful for a recent trip to KL. Based on the info I tried to book a room in the Concorde, but they were full at the time. When I called the Cabana Inn for a reservation, they were surprised, apparently they have walk-in customers only. Cabana Inn was very quiet during my visit Mid June.
Might be useful to know that Shangri-La, The Concorde, Cabana Inn are all close to the same intersection in KL, with Hard Rock and the Beach Club very close. The less you pay, the closer you are to the Beach Club. There are quite a few other bars at the same road as the Beach Club, but none have the same atmosphere. During my stay the Beach Club was packed, many Philippina's at that time. Apparently the ladies don't fancy the trip back to the suburbs late at night, closing time their prices drop to more or less what you have left in your wallet for LT. Admittedly I was very late, as I was trying to watch the German team lose their match at the recent EC. Of course the Germans won that one.
Transport is as described by LOS. Alternatively you can get a fixed price taxi from the airport for RM61.50. Cabana Inn can book a taxi to the airport for RM90, again fixed price.

Only RM10 though if you're not in a hurry and get the LRT 2Ringgit to KLSentral then the Yellow 8Ringgit coach nonstop to the LowCost terminal.

The bus takes a very long time i think.
Else you can take the ERL from KL Sentral to KLIA (MYR 35 one way), then a Shuttle (MYR 1.50 one way) to LCCT. KLIA International Airport - LCC Terminal - getting to terminal
The taxi mafia at KLIA and LCCT is same same to those in Phuket Airport. Normal metered taxis arent allowed to pick up customers at the airport.

You don't want to take the train to KLIA anyway if you're going to the LowCost Terminal as it costs more than 4 times as much as a coach from Sentral and takes the same time.
The Yellow or red AirAsia coaches run direct abaout every 15 minutes to LCCT and take 1hour 15 minutes.
By the time you've done 35 minutes in a train to KLIA, then walked down and waited for the shuttle to go and then it takes the shuttle at least 20 minutes to drive to LCCT you gain nothing in time and pay more than 4 times as much.

Do the Cabana Inn answer their email? I'm trying to book a deluxe room for a weekend in October.

If you are that desperate to book, phone them up. Like someone else said, they rarely take bookings...they have mainly walk-ins.
