Lamai
Hello
Can anybody recommend a nice, girl friendly Hotel in Lamai?
I have read good reviews about Lamai 99 Inn, but the bungalows of this resort are fully booked during my stay and I prefer bungalows.
It should be a hotel where the “quality-tourists” are not point with the finger on me.
Thanks

I sincerely hope that this is a genuine post and not a sick joke !!
Obviously Lamai beach has been in the news a lot lately and I personally don't like the way in which this post has been written, especially seeing as it is a first-post.

Sorry
Yes, this is a genuine post. But the time was bad.
In Germany was nothing in the news about the murdered people. I read something about this homicides after your post, in google news-search.
Sorry!
What do you not like on my way of writing?
I made bad experiences with intolerant tourists in LOS.
I’m not a butterfly, I travel with my Thai girlfriend, but I don’t like when the people point with the finger on us.

No problem Tofi,
There has been a lot in the British press and television about what happened in Lamai and people are a bit uptight about it. I guess if it had been a German tourist ,we would not have been as aware of the situation.
Sorry I can't help with your accomodation, have never been there but now that other BMs know this is a genuine request you may get some replies.
Welcome to the forum , why not post a quick introduction in the Newbies section and then you will be able to share your experiences .

Your best bet is to get the email address of each hotel/bungalow accomodation you want to try, usually will find these if the hotel/accomodation has a website.
Then just ask them outright if they have only farang staying there or do they regularly have farang men/thai women booking with them. I don't see it as too much of a problem to explain in the email that you want somewhere that other farang/thai couples so you are not the only one.
I has this experience in Phi Phi hotel- Koh Phi Phi, I was the only farang there with a thai lady, got some stares at first and generally when we were out & about, but personally I just smirk at them all and don't give a crap what they think....chok dee

I have been with my German girlfriend in Bangkok (her mother is from the Philippines).
The atmosphere in the Khao San area was really unfriendly and I think that was because of her Asian-look.
On a few hotels I have seen signs “No Thai”.
I hope to avoid situations like this on my stay in March!
@butterflyblode
Thank you! I will send emails with my intention to a few resorts.

A young British woman was recently murdered whilst walking along Lamai beach, hence my comments.
Shortly after this has happened and the first line of your first post asks if anyone can suggest a "nice, girl friendly hotel in Lamai".
You can find hotels here... http://directrooms-thailand.com/samu...mai-price1.htm

I recomend the samui laguna hotel which has a main building and also bungalows a room in the main building will cost you £20 (28 euros a night) a bungalow is slightly cheaper. Absolutely no problem with taking ladies back to your room. for bookings you can do a google search for samui laguna hotel or you can go to www.octopustravel.com where you will be able to book your room at the laguna using a debit or credit card. I have stayed there 3 times the last time being 6 weeks ago has an excellent position on the beach with good beach restaurant and bar and also good swimming pool also with a bar.
