Koh Samui - Coming to Samui for the first time, any tips ???

Alright everyone,
my mate JP from holland told me about this site as he is a regular visitor to Phuket, anyway. As we are coming out to Koh Samui on the 23rd April and going home on the 3rd May, I think we are missing both the full moon and half moon partys " Bastard ". Does anyone no if there are partys anyway over on Koh Phangan island as i would'nt mind going over and partying for a night and crashing somewhere, then back to our hotel on samui. Also where's the best nightlife in samui oh yeah and the best girls, and is chilli joe's the best tattooist as i plan to get one when I'm down, possibly slip away for a private massage somewhere when the wife's not around, where's the best parlour?? Am also planning on getting a suit made to fit, can anyone suggest a good taylor. Any other info on samui and phangan would be fantastic, Cheers Christoff

well tell me your thoughts:

what are you looking for in entertainment

most of samui is geared more towards farangs looking to party and not as much into hooking up with thai girls.
that being said, there are plenty of thai girls to be had.
as far as clubs:green mango, mint and reggae pub(or club) had plenty of thai and farang girls to choose from
samui by far has a much better bech-life than phuket. where there are more small bars and restaurants right on the beach

Just get up to Mango Soi. Central Chaweng. You wont go wrong. Sweet Soul on the corner before the Mango can be fun, but Mango has been extended out now... so its all pretty much the same place, Solo bar for later if its open.

New York New York Tailors... just up/down from Tropical Murphys do good suits ... you have to chip them down obviously, but the quality is good.

Cheers lads for the input, will defo note it down. Are all the restaraunts as good as they say they are. And whats the crack about haggling ? is everything up for a haggle apart from food and drink. Have heard someone on about a massage parlour in chaweng where you pick the girl you want and anything goes for the right price, oh and can you haggle with the girls ?? What about transport hire ? Is it worth getting a bike or jeep and what is avalible as would'nt mind doing some exploring in or on something cool if you no what i mean.

There are some good value restaurants, try Khaosan in Chaweng and the others i cant remember the name of. Or One Dollar Cafe in Bhophut... for good food. Its all good food, some restaurants are more pricy... Samui Seafood is one of the best for a decent price... then Preggo for a very nice place at a more expensive price. Preggo is the 'in' place. Its ****in poncy tho. Rice is a new place in central chaweng which i hear does good food with high prices and moderate ponciness right in the heart of things

A moped you get for 100bht per day most places. Just deposit yr passport and hold on tight.
