I really can recommend Ko Tau, its small, beutifull, fun and the locals are nice.
And if you like to dive, its a very very good spot.

I think that it's a bit overated personally.......the similans, Burma Banks, Surin Islands, Andaman sea in general, Phangna Bay with the Phuket/Phi Phi/Krabi areas and the islands + wrecks off Samae San south of pattaya all interest me more in Thailand.....it may be a good place to get your open water but as far as dive sites go there are only a couple in the area which compare to the above..........

Well havent experienced Similans, and the burma banks yet, planning to take a live aboard, next time in LOS.....
What i meant by good diving, is the weather, almost always a good dive day, and some of the places at Ko tau are top notch.....
Can you btw recommend any good dive torus doing liveaboard from phuket ?

sure Einher....there are loads of great dive trips in the Similans/Richelieu Rock?Burma Banks areas....depends upon how much you want to pay and how long you want to spend.....
I would say 3 days/2 nights is the absolute minimum.....and a week is about the optimum.....well for me anyway......
send me a pm anytime and I will be glad to help you with this........but be specific about your requirements
all the best
Nels......

THX will do as soon as i have planned my trip fully, will arrive in los 22 NOV, depart 22 DEC, so i guess , there should be a good chance for nice weather on the Adaman coast.

Plenty of time and the start of the Andaman dive season + good weather..........so all positive Einher........
you've got plenty of time for a week away diving so you can do the whole Similan/Surin/Burma Banks trip at once if you like.......and being a Dane you might want to try scandinavian divers....check out their website....
I also like South Siam for shorter trips....they have good boats/accom and usually have more Thai dive leaders than the others....
Sea Bees is another which caters to Scandi divers too.......but obviously your english is very good so you can go on any boats which suit your itinerary
other great dive sites you can do in the area include Phi Phi Island tours which take in Hin Muang + Hin Duang....usually involves a night or 2 on Phi Phi but well worth it for the large animals out there.....there are also soem geat spots just off Phi Phi.....Bida Nok + Nai for example.....
I'll be diving out there in early January......
