Age difference on Samui vs Phuket?
Is Samui a younger crowd in general than Phuket?
Being 46, I just feel more comfortable in a "classic rock" setting than a "euro disco" setting, if that means anything. Thanks, mark

Samui = Backpacker. Thats pretty much how i saw it. Also got a bit of a drug scene going on with the full moon party on Koh Phangan.
IMO Phuket has an older crowd but there are also a lot of young guys there. IMO Phuket is the best of both worlds...

just to expand a little....
there are still loads of people your age and older who are on Samui at anyone one time.....but they don't dominate the nightclub scene.........they are couples and in they are in their hotels or upscale restaurants.....but they do outweigh the backpackers in the daytime...... having said that if you are after nightlife then yes the clubs tend to be more "younger euro backpacker" oriented........ This doesn't mean you will be out of place at 46........far from it....but you will have to try a little bit harder and be possibly a little less attractive to the younger BGs than what you would be be in Phuket........ same thing could be argued for pattaya over Phuket from an older guys perspective.......

To get the 1000 LT beer bar girls, it is very competitive, especially when the high season is making business good. The younger lookers will tend to be looking for the younger guys. Otherwise, expect to do a lot of walking and looking, and don't get started too late or the good ones are gone. But never despair, because, if all else fails, you can always get a 500 ST girl, many of whom are, surprisingly, better looking than the beer bar girls. In Phuket, it is a little different, well, actually same same but different. It is more of a beer bar scene here, and there are a lot more good-looking young girls in the beer bars here than in Pattaya or Samui. Some of the young lookers in the beer bars here will rope you in for as many drinks as they can get for themselves and their friends, then make up some excuse why they won't go with you. They are a little spoiled, as there are so many young guys here with money to burn, and up for some hard partying. But, as much as I like their looks, I have to admit that the younger girls are starting to bore me anyhow, as I am not so 100% focused on sex, as I was even a year or two ago. There are so many girls here, and lots of young ones, so if you are persistent, I am sure you can find one, especially if you are not too choosy about how pretty their face is. Loads of girls with hot bodies, especially if you like the ones under 45 kgs(which I don't). The tiny ones tend to be cuter, too, so if you are into tiny girls, then that gives you a lot more choices, IMHO. My solution, at the moment, having been with several young lookers(19, 23, 25), each for a week, on this tour, and getting tired of their games, is to go with the "old ladies," i.e., 28 and over. Much more mature, and easier to get along with, not as spoiled as the young ones. The one I'm with now is 28, not a beauty, but not unattractive, either. She's sexy, a lot of fun, good attitude, and much hornier than the younger ones I was with. Being such a choosy bastard myself, I passed on this girl on a couple nights. But she kept flirting with me, and one night at closing time, she got me feeling so horny, I said, "What the hell? Why not?" Turned out to be a good decision, as I am currently a happy camper. The bottom line is that even 5 years older makes a difference in how the girls treat you, once you are over 40. But, if you are realistic, you can still find good girl and have a great time. And if you must have a real beauty, go to the gogo bar and pay the asking price. If you are willing to spend loads of money on them, they can still be quite entertaining. Just my two cents worth. samui defo has a much younger crowd but, the night life areas are very small I.E. soi green mango in chaweng beach, so maybe there are just as many young people in phuket but not as noticed because it's large size of the island. the nightlife in phuket is better for the bar scene and so many girls to choose from. i like both to be honest, but i would say that the BG's can be more picky in samui due to the fact that there isn't as many, but as we all know "money number one" so your always end up with a date. can get free-bees to in samui if you play your cards right on the beach during the day cus there is lots of groups of girls that go there.

Sometimes we would go out for a bite afterwards, and I bought her some clothes, since they were well needed. When I told her I was going to Phuket the next day, she asked if I would take her with me. But the last time I took a girl from BKK to Samui for 2 weeks, it didn't work out that well, so I declined. The 24/7 thing can be a bit intense, when you've only known a girl for a week. Decided not to take a chance on it. But in 6 years of trips to LOS, and maybe as many as 100 girls, I've only met one who was as "orally" skilled as her. An American friend at the hotel I was at explained to me the ST scene there. I was a bit hesitant, because I have had some very bad experiences with street girls in BKK. There is no recourse should you get ripped off, so I wouldn't advised doing it, if you are really pissed(drunk). But, much to my surprise, the 4 I had, were real sweethearts. And it wasn't strictly sex, since they were also a lot of fun, and weren't in a hurry to get started or to get it over with. That is something that really surprised me. Anyhow, 500 Baht is the standard price. They approach you when you look at them, and ask "Where you go?" You say hotel. They say, "I go with you." You say, "Short time, 500 Baht, OK?" They say, "OK." Done deal. If you are close to your hotel, you can walk. If not, you can take the Baht bus, or Mototaxi, 60 Baht for 2 people. When you are done, they will usually ask for taxi fare, which is usually only 20 Baht for them. If they stayed a long time(3 hours or more), and an especially good time was had by all, they might ask for a 100 Baht tip. Up to you. One old-timer told me sometimes they ask him for 600 instead of 500, but that didn't happen to me. P.S. Watch out for the LBs, plenty of them, and they will lie about being LBs. Unless you are into that, of course. Some of them are quite beautiful. But picking up a LB on the street would seem to me like one of the more dangerous things you could do in LOS. Even so, the quality did not seem up to Phuket level. Most notable to me in Chaweng, was the large numbers of young farang girls. There seemed to be nearly as many farangs girls as bar girls. So, I am not sure where age enters into the equation, as just finding a good-looking girl is enough of a challenge, age notwithstanding. But since there is no shortage of young farang backpacker guys there, an older guy with more money to spend on them, would probably not have a problem. Overall, I am a bit sketchier on the Samui scene than the Phuket or Pattaya scene, for the reasons mentioned, so take my observations with a grain of salt.

I'll be part of a couple this trip too. She has a reckless streak so never say never about 3P possibilities but best I'll manage is some extra curricula in a "respectable massage shop" (any suggestions?) or else I'll go solo one nite when she's painting her nails.
