Normally its no problem to get a speedboat back to samui. It lasts about one hour back to samui. Maybe a bit less than an hour.

Yes. Been for 8 weeks in KP. Been twice to "the party".
If you like to party between 20.000 smelling backpackers, "we are on a world tour" and dance on "Dancing Queen", you will probably love it.
For the real KP, stay out out of Haad Rin.
I loved KP, everything available and very relaxed. Except for 1/2 days a month, when the "world travelers" enter the island.

Full Moon Party
G'day kheemao,
I'm heading to BKK, Patong on 23rd Feb.....anyone else going?
standar question: does anyone know the best way to get to the full moon party from Patong?????
I've been to patong before and LOVED it, is there anywhere just as good around the area?
I'm staying in BKK for 3 nights anywhere recommended!
thanks Brad

Hey Bradmac,
I've done a little searching and found that the best way is to fly to Koh Samui and from there take a ferry to Koh Pangan. You can choose between staying in a hotal at Phangan or staying in a hotal at Samui and just take a ferry to Phangan in the evening and return in the morning. I'm more inclined to do the second to be honest.
Cheers

I don`t like if they drink so much. And really not so many Thais over there.
I like more the nice Bars and the drinks over there and of course the GIRLS

its an hour or so flight from phuket to samui, bkk air around 2500b-from there u have to take a ferry to koh phangan 150b....i think it takes 1.5 hours or so.this is the best/easy option.
otherwise if u got a bit of time on yer hands, minibus is between 400-600baht from patong incuding ferry charge, but will take a good part of your day up if not all of it.prepare for some waiting around if u do .
so defintely a few nights stop over will be required either way.

i personally would stay phangan for a couple of nights, not just go FMP then back in the mornin, speedboat is an option for this, which i would never do(well out of season deffo, rough sea etc ),but fair enough if ya have no intrest, but if its partying u want, then phangan has its fair share day in day out......or if u want a bit of relax time after the partying head north of the island, had son ,had yao......also some very nice secluded beaches.also some great individual bars scattered about ,if u wanna carry on the party a bit more low key.

Was there in 94' for a half (or black) moon party but by the time things started livening up it was past my bed-time.
Might have to have a nana nap this time.

Hi anybody
If you want go to full moon party in koh phangan... please be carefull with your belongings.....I was there 1 time and bad people steal video camera from my hand. And many farang in police station had same problem. Take only small money and/or small camera and book hotel in koh phangan and not go on daytrip with speedboat.... because when you go back many problems to go on board of boat.... high water many people and everyone drunk.

Exactly. Even back a few years for the millenium party, it was full of people hellbent on recreating some kind of Eurotrash-DiCaprio bastard fantasy. Not for me, at any rate.
On the other hand, further up on the east side of the island, there's a pretty hard-to-reach beach called Thong Nai Pan that is excellent.
