Hi, ive been to Koh Samui about 5 times, always stayed at Lamai Beach , last time was 2 1/2 yrs ago, i still believe that most of the bungalow type of accommodation along the beach is guest friendly, maybe a few of the "better/newer" Hotels may have a joiner fee?
a few that i know of that are/were joiner free are :-
Lamai Inn99, Best Resort, Bill Resort, Amadeus Bungalow, & Lamai View.
most of these bungalow/hotel types are away from rd & on beach away from noise of cars/bikes.
below is a website for hotels-

yes good time to come at the moment, weather is good and not to busy.
my advice, just book somewhere for 1st 2 nights then have a look round for a place you like and as it's low season you should get good deal

Hello,
i was quiet happy in Lamai Wanta, no joiner fee, directly at the beach. In
june there was a redecorating of some rooms in the middle of the facility,
but not noisy.
When i walked around, i could see that many hotels are doing some
work, maybe because of low season.
Paid 1360 Baht/night.
