where would you go
We will be staying for a month mainly in Patong and we are planning on taking a girl each to an isalnd or a quiet beach for a few days just to break the trip up and mainly to flush the alcohol out a bit because if its anything like our last trip a month ago we could be in trouble.. So our options are: Get girls from Patong and head to Hua Hin, Or wilth the same girls go to Koh Phangan and head towards to the quieter sides eg had juan or bottle beach(never been to this one before)..... Or.... We will be spending our first 4 nights in Pattaya, have been there before and have a couple of regulars so what we could do is grab them and go to either Koh Samet or Koh Chang which ive never been to but been told its very beautiful but need to go with girls... Stay there for a couple of days then go back to Pattaya for a couple of days just the boys and start again and finally finishing off in Patong.. Well!! havnt dont the GFE thing and taken a girl away from her area so to speak so if anyone could reccomend a place they've been to it would be appreciated... Thanx

the krabi region is also very nice for taking a couple of days off from the booze. you could stay at ao nang or railay beach and have it as a base and do various daytrips from there. lots of very nice islands and beaches around that area and the long tail boats that take you there are cheap.

Koh Lanta is a good place to chill out for a while.No night life as such but plenty of laid back beach bars.Also has very good beaches.You can get there by gtting a ferry from Phuket via Phi Phi,takes about 4 hours or rent a car and drive down also takes about 4 hours.I go down about 3 times a year to get away from Phuket for a while

Have to agree with Iltis about Krabi/ao nang/ Railay very beautiful with lots of day trip options.

I would go to Samui stay at a beach hotel and just kick back and relax. The way they set up the beach there every night is just beautiful very romantic. You can just kick back on the beach every night where you are served your dinner and just watch the stars and have a few quiet drinks.

Sounds good in theory but I'm not too sure how LULT will go with all the romantic stuff....Rumours have it he would be hitting on the bar girls while his gf is enjoying the stars....555555

Well had a chat with the boys and i think for now the plans are:
Hire a Jeep and head up towards Krabi/Ao Nang and around there abouts Has anyone driven up??? I guessing the view would be beautiful and going by the distance (187 roughly kms) i think its about a 3 hour drive... can anyone confirm this..... Is this the best way to go there... Looked at some photos and pics and it looks beautiful and also have the option to go out for a few a night......

No need to take girls to koh phangan these days, there are lots of bars between Had Rin and Tong Sala with some very nice girls.

Samet...nice and quiet...easy to get gals to go there with you for a couple of days out of Patts.....about 4 hours by bus + boat
Chang same as above only another 2 hours....is bigger and has more activities....both could be hard to book for Xmas period....probably best done in the low season...would cost less than half the price then Krabi is one of my favourite places in LOS...but once again it will be very busy and very expensive at that time of year....Ao Nang + Ralay are superb but you'll have lots of competition there for a very few gals....nightlife is miniscule compared to Patts, Tong + BKK...just a few bars...and loads of Euro's

Ok i think its gona be Krabi.. Now one question.. Railey Ao Nang are they like Patong and karon in Phuket???? Sorry guys about the questions but i havnt been yet but im gona be the navigator and supposed to be the experienced one so i wana know where im goin...
Also if you have any decent hotels in mind so i can book them in advance because like you guys have said its gona be high season and very busy.. Budgetwise we're not fussed, we are on holiday so we expect to spend $$$$ and not worry bout it... Also we have girls from last trips that would be more than happy to join us so all we need is the location and i think we've found it.. Cheers fellas

Ao Nang...then take day trips to ralay, etc...some good boat tours to the local islands as well like Lanta etc.....and you should come back via the ferry which goes to Phi Phi then onwards to the Phuket harbour...that's a nice trip

thanks mate i appreciate it... What you wrote sounds good and i also looked at the hotel you gave the link to which also looks good...
Ill be in LOS the same time as you so we can have a chat in person over a few beers.... Do you think i should book the accom now soon or am i ok to just rock up on the day or even just call and make a booking a week or so before?? as soon as you are sure you are going book it LULT....it may even be full already so check it out.....Krabi is packed during the Xmas/NY period...
yeah I'll be about in 'tong for a few weeks starting Xmas eve....Bkk then Patts for a week before that....maybe we can get that golf chalenge in with the Steptoe (Dodger) + Son (Duncs)

I have done the trip reverse, from Krabi to Patong, and the scenery is definitely nice. Stayed in Krabi town, which I didn't fancy much.
But we stayed in a fantastic resort with a great pool in the middle of nature, just outside the city center: Maritim Hotel The taxidriver had a funny look on his face when he drove us up to Patong, he was looking for a seaside resort but he ended up in our beloved Soi Sansabai favorite, the Cadillac Mansion. Gone now... We liked Ao Nang a lot, about a 30-45 min drive from Krabi town. Have fun.
