no beach front rooms

hello,

so the plan was to get a room at lamai wanta but they are all booked. can anyone else please recommend a nice place with a good beach front on lamai beach. price isn't too much of a concern.

Hi Mike,

I just cancelled my 10 night stay arriving on January 29th. You might want to try them again.

At first, I was ready to contact them and see if I could get a substantial discount off of my room reservation rate or a good upgrade after reading some of the comments here on the forum about how dead Lamai Beach was right now. Your posting put an end to those thoughts. I'm going to split my cancelled 10 days now between Bkk and some beach area nearer to Phuket where I have a reservation for 7 nights stay at the Marriott Beach Club in early February. Good luck.

why don't you book the lamai inn for 1 night then take a wander up and down the beach to see what takes your fancy

That's exactly what I like to do and most of time, (when it's not hi season), it works out great. And the price is also negotiable, that is they usually give you a nice break. This also adds a bit more excitement to the trip. I do this when I am going for a long period of time.

When I am just on a short visit, I tend to like my bookings done ahead of time. Makes for a smoother holiday.....
