Koh Phangan | haad rin | sunset beach

Hey,

Im finding it very difficult to locate a hotel within walking distance of Haad rin(sunset beach)...10 minute walk or so. All of the hotels I have emailed asking for details will not take a reservation unless I plan to stay 3 days before and 3 days afterwards...this is not possible because I only arrive in Bangkok 3 days before but staying 3 days after is not a problem for me at all.

I arrive in Bangkok 18 June and plan to head down for the 21st to enjoy the full moon party then off to Samui for 7-10 days to chill out and put the feet up

Can anyone suggest/recommend a place that will fit my requirement? Last year I stayed in the morning star resort..it was 10 mins on bike/tuk tuk but I want to cut out the journey over the mountains this time.

Would I be mad just arriving with my bagpack and expecting to find a room within this distance? Are the full moon parties in low season(june) just as insane?

Any information would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Mark.

Your not on your own there mate we have the same problem and are now thinking of going looking on the day before the FMP because we can only stay 2 nights tops, And have looked everywhere for accom but like you have had no joy as they will only take bookings for 3days, So its either that or were not going to bother and just stay the extra few days in samui.

boys, just get your arses over there.you might have to do a bit of hunting, but you'll find something.
no ones gonna turn down buissnes, you may not get a bungalow or hut actually in haad rin, thats no problem, getting to the full moon party will be no hassle(they arrange transport from your resort).
Iremark,if u dont find anything in haad rin, stay somewhere else, and once its quitened down(day or two later)take another look.
Ally u dont wanna miss this,FMP or not,its worth making the effort for at least a few days ,if your not feeling it(which i doubt u will),just get back on the boat to samui(only 200- 300 baht).
Good luck lads (not that u need it)hope your tours go well!

Yeah it's quite unfortunate...I find the crowd over at phangan-info(i think thats them) very unhelpful via e-mail anyway.

Let me know if you have any luck and I will also.

Mark.

If I still have no luck closer to departure I will have to look at this option, I guess it would not be so bad until day after full moon party.

Thanks,
Mark.
