samui report

Just spent 4 nights in Lamai on Koh Samui
First thing I noticed was the beer bars are not in large soi's like patong they are mostly in groups of 4 to 5 together the drinks prices are about 10 baht cheaper and most seem to have happy hours and no where near as "wild"
as patong.
No wipes when you enter bar which I miss.
The girls are not as prolific as in patong but there are still some very nice lookers,Barfine at 200 baht LT cheaper at 800 baht and dont seem to ask
for presents etc. like patong.Didnt seem to get "come for drink my bar" as much as in patong(maybe Im a bit older than the norm here).
A lot more couples drink at the bars than patong and not much pole dancing
but a few bar do cater for this.
Seems more familes also but maybe because bars are spread out more ?

Food to me seemed a bit dearer but not as many food outlets as patong nor variety.
I stayed at the Lamai Inn 99 right on the beach great spot except for 200m walk at night down an unlit lane only time I have not felt safe at night in Thailand just needs a few floodlights and would be o/k.
Forgot to pick me up from airport, and room was 2 single beds and pretty basic at 1100baht per night.
Had a whinge about room and was offered a pool view room at 1200 baht (normally 1300 baht i thinks)this room was spot on king size bed, modern bathroom looked very new just next to good pool.
LBFM loved the room could hear what was going on in rooms next door and she really got off on that amazing what a bit of "noise" can do to them.
Woke me a couple of times every night for a bit as people returned home and got into it.
The Resturant at lamai inn was spot on good food ,great view ,right on the beach.
If I go to samui again would stay here but only in pool view room.
The beach is great deep water for swimming with shade trees available very clean sand and water.
Did one 6 hour tour around Island was worth the 550 baht as a good way too see around Island but think its more of a chill out place bit of LT and bum around the beach or to take your patong BG for something a bit quieter.
Make sure you keep 400 baht for airport tax on dep.

Lamai - Bar Girls and Lamai Inn 99

Yea, I was a newbee In Thailand and just stayed 4 nights in Chaweng before I went to Lamai.

I hate the traffic in Chaweng, I like Lamai a lot now. The idea to take a girl with you may be a good one (especially youīve been in BKK before) if you look for the special ....

"Itīs upon you" ;-) But the water is great, the beach not as white as Koh Phangan (where NO Thai girls are)... it`s a good compromise between nightlife and relaxing. And Lamai Inn is great.

Local girls less than 1000 baht, I found some restaurants with excellent Thai food at the beach "New Hut" or much better like the photo below (255 Baht, including drinks)

i been to both lamai and chaweng and if you like the bar sceen the chaweng is the place to be but it defenatly has a younger crowed there. the bars are open with ppl dancing around, it has a soi full of beer bars though so if you want to sit at the bar for a drink then there is still that option, there is alot of couples and some falang women, lamai is more of a family place but is nice and quite and you can really relax, the beaches ore beautiful where ever you are and the traffic does get on ur nervers in chaweng, but it's not a big deal
