Mai Thai Bar (MTB) WiFi Hotspot - Patong Phuket Thailand
Ok, now we have wireless access (WiFi Hotspot) to internet in MTB, customers in MTB can enjoy free internet access if they wish.
You need a PDA (E.g. Pocket PC) or Laptop with wireless LAN card to be able to access our network.

Yes, I am aware of that. But since it is useful for myself and the webcam (I will make the webcam faster now) so why not offer WiFi to the public for free if somebody is interested.
I just want to offer additional services, but I dont expect many people to actually use it. Maybe in the future Handhelds/PDAs will be more common.

As per Nicke's other comments I am guessing ADSL / Free / 1024-512 or 512-256

I am using a 256/128 ADSL line. The lines with higher capacity is shared among up to 20 people so I prefer a slower line shared by less, thus, more stable I hope.

The higher capacity lines are shared among many but what they have probably not told you is that JI's compax solution is also a shared bandwith deal also (fine print).. My contacts tell me that the 1024 is usually about 600 real speed and sometimes drops to 400 or so.. So even during its slow period its still faster than JI and half the price..
I also hear anecdotal evidence that TT&T lines are more reliable than TOT but cant really say.

My friend have the cheap TOT deal and he told me when he download he got just 56-80kb but he can start up more downloads and each download gets about same speed.
I pay 1550 baht for jicompax, the line has been good so far.
I still use Ji-Net for 3500 baht at home/office but will change as soon there is cheaper and faster reliable deals available. I use TT&T for my phonelines.

When your frind is getting 56 - 80 per download that is measuring a bottleneck somewhere in the net chain, by showing that multiple downloads give each DL 56 - 80 it is showing the line speed is higher, the fault is most likely the host server. McAfee speedo will also give skewed results at peak US hours thats why most ISP's have thier own speed test location on their local servers (to prove your line is actually faster than the net you are measuring).. All in all to the end user it immaterial, we recently had the Phuket BKK uplink upgraded from 8 Mbit line.. that meant everyone on Phuket (even multiple people all on 1 Mbit contracts) was sharing it !!
1550 with JIcompax ?!?! buggers just claimed the best deal they could do me was 2k ISP and 500 line costs on a 256 ?!?! Is that price including the line costs ??
