Jimmy,

Beginning in dec/jan (02/03)& may>aug (03) i will be spending the better part of 6 mo.'s a year in Phuket. Your site has been just what i've been looking for. I will be by to introduce myself and avail myself of a lovely tour guide as this will be my first visit. Question: I have made tentative arrangements for lodging with Eric @ Karon Cafe/Paradise Inn. Could you provide an opinion of this establishment? Also i would appreciate any suggestions along this line. Look forward to meeting you and spending time at the Mai Thai.

Boom boom boom

Hi Jimmy and Nicke,

Jimmy, this message is really for you. I have followed this web site for nearly 2 years. I think Nicke has done a fantastic job. I remember when ANYBODY could write a comment. Me and you had some head to heads. No problem, thats what it is about, BUT, I remember you said to me that I was a cheap charlie (this was where your saying 'Cheap Charlie No Good' came from. I was saying not to pay the girls more than 500 baht. You used to say ' Show them some luv, treat em right etc' but I know you still **** them. You told us all a little time ago. The fact that you may have more money than other people (you said you willl give them 2,000 baht for one night) does not make us cheap charlies.
I take a lady, or ladyboy out, and I buy them drinks and food all night. I will pay their bar fine and ask themn what they want. Usually they say 500 baht. I give them 1,000 baht anyway (if they are good!!
Dirty Mike.

Great site Nicke.
Please inform of anything I may or na not

Sunset Mansion

More can be found at www.sunsetmansion.com ...It is on the North edge of Patong....As you will see by the price it is very budget and no pool......Not for me but looks like a very good value. I've not stayed there but its down a small soi...the area doesn't offer much and a bit far from Soi Bangla ....Cooking in is not important since food is so cheap and most hotel (not sunset) offer a breakfast that fills you for the day. Look on the hotels section of the phuket- info.com, Nicke has negotiated some very good prices for hotels around 1000 Baht or lower.... I like a pool and a little more! I'll have two visits at 10 days each in Sept so I like a bigger room with more comforts. I'm a Thara Patong pool terrace guy..Many Mai Thai ladies like to come for afternoon swim! You can get into the Thara Patong begining at about 1300.
Best Bet...http://www.phuket-info.com/hotels.htm and take
advantage of Nicke's had work at getting good rates.

Remember...Room is for Boom Boom, I'm always thinking of the size and newness of hotel beds...

Hotels

Jimmy,

The Thara Patong looks outstanding. I'll be on Phuket for close to 4 mo.'s however, and the price would be just out of my range. I'm tempted to make the stretch by the looks of it. Will they negotiate a better deal (I've emailed them w/no response). Something closer to 17k/19k BHT per mo. is what I'm shooting for. Thanks for the suggestions though and please forward any new options you may come across.

Hotel

Hi Jimmy,

I'll be on Phuket May thru August '03. I am a writer (historical fiction) and plan on working during my stay. So my needs are somewhat different than the usual vacationer. Still, I want the nightlife closeby, ie female companionship, as well as a modicum of luxury in my accomodations. Thanks so much for the help. The first round is on me when we cross paths. I surely will email Nicke.

Thanks,

THL

Good Stuff

Good News... Seems that you are planning long term..Very Good
I looks like I'll take up residence in Thailand part time getting my 1 year visa next month.... Speaking of the Visa Issue do you have a Thai Office near your home? As for meI'll be on the move. Patong, Pattaya, Honolulu, San Francisco and Cozumel Mexico....Mostly Thailand I like it there the best.
I think Nicke has just the place for you...He's great at placing people.... You can trust Nicke... It's a good thing he's a techie/Webmaster cause he is to honest to be a businessman. I'll be around Mai Thai Bar....and checking e-mail

Good hotels

Hi THL,

I stayed just around the corner from the Thara Patong (or just out of the side exit!), on Sawadiruk Road where Soi SeaPearl is.
The hotel is called the Patong Pearl Resotel. I have stayed there 3 times now. I just got back a little while ago, and was paying 700 baht per night. There are 2 rooms, numbers 107 and 108. They have patio doors which back onto the pool (no extra charge), and the staff are fantastic. If you stay for a long time I am sure this hotel will come into your price range. It is very clean and quiet, but is also very close to all the action. Its worth a look. I am putting some photos on the General section of this site. I will see if I can dig one out of the hotel.

Rooms & Boom Boom

Hi Jimmy, Hi Dirty Mike,

Thanks for the feedback. I've really been doing my research and your input is greatly appreciated.I look forward to hearing from Nicke. 2 other hotels have piqued my interest: Casa Summer Breeze; and, Club Bamboo. Familiar with either of these establishments.
Also, i've noticed your debate on the relative cost of Boom Boom. As I am trying to produce a budget for my lengthy stay, please inform me as to the cost I can expect in this regard. Bar fine + girl etc...I'm not "cheap Charlie", but I don't want to overspend either. Also, would you recommend settling on 2-3 girls, or, play the field more liberally.
Again, thanks for all the info.

Hotel and Boom Boom

Greetings,
Club Bamboo is up on third road North East Side and seems to market to the Gay community.....As to $Boom I'm not debating anyone..... B.F. + S.T. 500 or L.T. 1000 ... A consistantly well received token is a Thai Airways ticket home.....Usually Korat which means BKK and then a bus.....I sent a friend home to Udon Thani...etc.

Jimmy,

Thanks, $500/$1000 well within budget. Have emailed many establishments, looks like I will be able to get a great rate for extended stay. Will avoid Club Bamboo. Question: do many hotels hassle bringing girls back to the room?

Guest friendly hotels

Hi THL & HJ

When I arrived at the Patong Pearl Resotel last Christmas, the girls behind the reception said everything would be ready for me in about 15 minutes, so I walked 100 yards down the street to the Moon Bar on the corner of Soi SeaPearl, had a drink, found a friend for some short time fun and went back to the hotel 15 minutes later. The receptionists looked at me, laughed and said 'Mr Mike, you velly velly naughty!!'. Later that night I had different lady back. No joiners fees and no problems.
About the price war thing with me and Jimmy. In the past it usually used to get a bit out of hand (usually on my behalf because I used to come on pissed up!! Sorry Jimmy, never meant to have a go at you personally. I would like a Chang or Singha with you and next time Im out, if you want to. My shout), but my outlook is to give them what you genuinely can afford and never try to be cheap to them. If I had more money I would give it to them. When I find ones who treat me really well and are good fun I always give them more, but I give it to them as a gift at the end of their stay. I pay them every day, usually 1,000 baht and then give them a little lump when I say Hasta la Vista.
If a girl doesnt want to have a shower with me, or stay until morning, she gets 500 baht and I wont see them again.
Do what u feel comfortable with. If you are going to be there for a long time, then perhaps letting the girl live with you for free and giving them 1,500 to 2,000 per week may work (average wage about 4,000 to 5,000 month then rent to pay), but if you let one move in be VERY careful. It will probably end in tears.

lodging & girls

Dirty Mike,

i have yet to hear back from patong pearl.i have been getting some pretty aggressive quotes however.any knowledge of "sun hill hotel", "patong villa", "villa swiss garden", or "harry's steakhouse & pub".
as for the girls, 1,500BHT-2,000BHT a week sounds great, but i don't think i want to be tied to one girl. does this apply to the girls at the mai thai, or are we only talking about girls from the a go-go's? in fact, what a go-go would you suggest?
speaking of that, Jimmy, i have been getting responses back on the 'joiner' fees from various hotels.
Mike, thanks for the feedback

Weekly Lady Rates

$1500-2000 Baht a week......Probably in September...Slowest month.....I must admit I usually go the G.F. style swearing that I'll never do it again.....I'm having a visor made "Mai Thai Butterfly"
because the girls want the full time thing. I fact I will have to deal with the one I kept for Feb and April not getting the call for Sept vistit #1 or visit #2 . Sept Trip I'm going to Pattaya first stop.....Bangkok Air will get me down to Phuket w/o going back to BKK...
Thai B.G.'s advanced tech ladies...yes....They send me text messages to my cell phone....I like to bust'em at Mai Thai Bar.
Two days ago I see my THB1000 per day live in getting a guy all worked up..Text message.." You make man horny, go Boom Boom NOW! Ya should have seen the look on her face! Busted...

As to the G.F. thing....I hate to agree with Dirty Mike but unless you want wedding bells it will end in tears....Remember.. As to Marriage, after the ring its a different thing times 10 for Thai girls!

girls

Honolulu Jimmy,

Yeah, I really am not interested in steady girlfriend. Definitely!!! NOT marriage.I guess if i do find a young cute thai girl who knows...maybe i could stay w/1 for the summer? Still 4 months is a long time to be w/just 1 girl.
Do you mainly stay with girls from the Mai Thai? Or, is it better to frequent more than one establishment?

#'s Bar Mai Thai Butterfly

Don't tell anybody but I go to Mai Thai Bar at night.... If I want an afternoon S.T. I go to Full Moon Bar at Soi Sea Pearl and last but not least Christins!
As to reasons why I go to same bar..... Althought problems with the girls are not often I feel more comfortable at one place where I'm too good a customer to have a problem.....Stay away from Freelancers (most)
and Street/Beach girls. I have no problem B.F.ing right in front of yesterdays boom....As to the "Losing Face" issue remember BAHT is B.G.'s best friend!

HJ,
that's good to know. i guess i was curious about BFing one girl in front of the one you did the day or night before. that answers a lot of questions. i too feel more comfortable frequenting the same place. it looks like mai thai will be the place
oh yes, christins, is it as good as everybody has been saying.

Full moon bar and Soi SeaPearl

Hi HJ,

Have you ever been with a girl called Din Din from the Full moon bar? She is incredible. She has a tattoo on the stomach of a BIG butterfly!!
I have been with a few from the Country Bar on the other corner, and the Fire Rose bar near the HongNahm.
Do you know the 2 Swiss guys Chris and Jurgen from the Power Bar, 2 up from Full moon? They are great guys and if you like your music a little bit heavy, thats the place. Chris normally goes for a dip in the Thara Patong Pool most days.
Have fun next visit.

Lightbulb Boom Ration

I do frequent many bars.....My afternoon bars are across from Thara Patong on Soi Sea Pearl....I like to sit at Rock Hard Outside bar Scruffy Murphys... and Kangroo Bar Soi Bangla...

This is Secret! I work off a 2.0 Boom Ration...for each day in Patong I must boom 2 different ladies and one may be a G.F. However, Lady # 2 cannot be same lady 2 days in a row... Many good bars on Soi Sea Pearl....I go for Full Moon often for my afternoon Boom!

Thara Patong Joiner Fee!

No Fee. Your guest can either leave her I.D. card at the front desk or If you fall in love you can register her as a guest and she gets a room card, breakfast pass etc....

Occassionally she might have to leave her card with the guard, no problem as it will be at the front desk when she leaves.

Do you have a room picked out....I pay a little more and stay at the pool terrace room.. New wing rooms are much nicer, bigger and the girls love the nice room!if you need more info:
info@tharapatong.com Attn Mr. Joel will get you there!

Have fun..at Mai Thai Bar. Soi Eric is really nice....very clean!
Bring little gifts for the ladies at Mai Thai Bar...they love cigarettes from outside Thailand...most smoke menthol...

Leave a few ladies for me.. I'm headed down to Patong in a few weeks

Cool

Thank you very much Jimmy, I just received confirmation of the hotel and followed yr advise about pool terrace new wing.
I definitely will have a few beers at the mai thai bar . I don't smoke so I'll find something else than cigarettes for the girls and
Belgian Chocolate would probably melt over there .
How many girls in the Mai Thai?

You'll be very happy about the room....As to Mai Thai Bar...
There are so many girls in SoiEric alone but Mai Thai is fun because they are not too pushy.....Have you had a look at the Mait Thai Web cam
http://www.phuketwatch.com/maithai.htm

Chrisitins Massage parlor is a good way to relax after a long trip.
I generally go ther my first afternoon.

Have fun....
