New LCC Terminal at KL Airport

I was surprised to find out there was a new arrival terminal in KL for Low Cost Carriers (Air Asia). It's name is LCC-T.

You had to walk a short distance on the ground from the airplane and there you had immigration, and then you are out. Very fast and efficient compared to the main terminal.

Outside is a lot of taxis available or you can use the new Skybus to KL Sentral for just 90 baht. (9 RM)

However, I wanted to go to the main terminal because I hadnt booked any hotels so I took another bus for 1.50 RM.

Both good and bad, if you want to use the express train or book hotel then you have to take the bus to main terminal to do that. I can also imagine for people who use KLIA as a hub for another international flight that Air Asia may be a bad choice.

At the end, I stayed at Concorde as usual althought the online hotel booking website claimed it was fully booked.

I think Airasia made a bad choice. If you check in there, it is WAY too crowded, not very well airconditioned, small choices of restaurants there. Just too small with too many people running around. Maybe I caught a bad time when I checked in there last time.

Also the waiting area, it makes you feel like real low cost operation, as there is no comfort as well. Looks like you re sitting in an airplane hangar.

KL main terminal makes you feel VIP.

LCCT is too far away fr KLIA.

    Very inconvenient.

Air Asia do provide bus service to KL Sentral at RM9 per way. But that takes too long.

I flied with Malaysian Airlines last time, also evening flight to make things easier. When I went back to Phuket I used KLIA Express train from Kl Central. The flight was delayed 30 minutes thought, so not only LCC flights are delayed.

I still prefer the real airport instead of LCC Terminal.

Most if not all MAS routes that are not popular will always be delayed.

Air Asia delay pattern is when the flight is not full.

Changi LCCT is better, if you look at their website, amazing!!

When i fly Air Asia, i dont check in my bags, so i always arrive 1hr before the flight. Dont want to hang out too long there, really boring. Phuket airport at least is better.

Thumbs up LCCT KL - slight inconvenience

I just did a trip visiting KL and passed through the terminal.OK you don't arrive in a big airport but it does the job.

There were no queues for immigration (entering and leaving)

Slight hassle getting the bus over to main airport. This is no worse than going from Terminal Three at Heathrow to Terminal One.The green buses run a regular shuttle every twenty minutes.

I turned down the Air Asia Shuttle into KL Sentral as they said it would take 1 hour 20 minutes and was jam packed. It was an old bone shaker with no bog.

Taxis offered to do the trip direct to my hotel for 56 Rgt - about 600 Baht and it took one hour door to door.
If you can't take a joke you shouldn't have joined up!!!

Have fun in KL. Weather has been real unpredictable these few days. Heavy rain in evenings most of the week.
