My room was on the first floor looking out over a small courtyard at the back - didn't have any noise at any time although the room was directly above the bar downstairs.
Was a great place to stay as the bar was A/C'd and everybody, 'specially the girls, were all fantastic. For 700 baht (low season) it is a real bargain.

re your stay at metro appts, did your room actually face out onto the soi, for example looking at or over to the Rock house or did it look onto an inner court yard or something? its just when i stayed at the Rock house sometimes it was quite noisy in the street?
