Once in a blue Moon.
Well Guys...you wait an eternity for the lucky mining stock to give you a boost...and I think that this time around its fallen my way...
My accountant calls me 2 days ago and encourages me to by AUM(Australian Mining investments). Its about midday, I'm at work and not enough time to read up on it so on a wing and a prayer(and his trustworthy advice) I buy in 5000 units at $3.24.This seems high risk since the stock was around 50 cents only 4 weeks ago....
Then the rollercoaster began...it finished at 5.20 that day....next day opened at $7.15 and rose to $10.00 after 1 hour of trading before it was placed on a trading halt...currently $7.11...
It should re-open tommorrow and from all info avaialble the discoveries of copper are fair dinkum and accurate..so who knows where it will end up...
I will be glued closely to my laptop at 1000 tommorrow...as soon as it starts to dip I'm outer here...take the money and run....
A very nice way to start off the new financial year...and a reward will be awaiting my very kind accountant friend..
Must book a trip back to LOS too..
see ya

good luck just remember to get off the rollercoaster before it makes you sick !!!!!!!
my way is to sell some stock at high price to cover "buy" cost and that way keep some free stocks, only problem is capital gains tax

sounds like an insider trading enquiry could also be in your accountant's future. sounds dodgy as hell, sorry to say

Does look very much like the accountant knew beforehand. Is there any way Robo's purchase can be traced back to his accountant? I'm assuming he was clever enough not to have used a contract cell phone or a land line to suggest this purchase.

It sounds dodgy on the outset just from reading his post, but it was a well published story in Aus for past couple of weeks on the huge (and were talking possible biggest copper mine in the world) discovery by this tiny copper company..looks like just jumped in on some huge buying,
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au...49-643,00.html
Note: There are some questions as to the size...but the news was all out there for all to read so no insider info needed to get in

well, if his accountant is a registered financial planner or something and robo is his client, than yes
but sounds like it was just a friend
anyways, i was just joking somewhat, but does look funny

to my knowledge insider trading has only been to the courts twice in australia, its pretty hard to police.
As stated this stock and other in the same field, have been rising for some time.
his advisor got in at $3.24 not 50 cents as it was 4 weeks ago IMHO no insider trading.

All clean
Yes guys...sounds stenchy..but the stock over-performed before I got in....and just kept rising.I hesitated but threw some money behind it because it was in the news...and I love when small cpmpanies are given massive exposure in the media..
I truely believe that it will hit a correction and fall back to where it should be..but in the meantime enjoy the ride.
I've lost money in the past with stocks that have promised so much but delivered very little...
Yes my accountant has been registered for some years now and also is a friend of mine(grew up together)..and on landlines were used during our conversations..
Well the theory of playing with your gains is a nice one and this is where I will be heading hopefully once it re-opens..currently suspended....
another day at the office....hope my broadband keeps pace..

Sometimes, big balls = big rewards. Looks as if that stock was selling at 29 cents 6 weeks ago. Yet you jumped in with both feet at 5000 shares, even though it was already up 1000% in 6 weeks time. Good job, Robo!!!
Just think if you were the lucky/smart? guy who bought 5 or 10K shares at 0.29!

Spot on..investing 8 weeks ago would have been the bomb..
But unfortunately can't keep my eyes and ears focused on stocks 24/7.
Before I bought in I ask myself how much of a loss could I absorb and then decided to go for it because the reports that were released were very impressice...
Since Thu I have been reading up about the lucky ones...some hold options in the stock to be excised at only 20 cents...and hold 250000...now he/she is definately having sleepless nights.
Good luck to all who hold...its about time the small punter got his hands on some cash(I hope)..

I was about to buy Google shares when they went IPO for 90$.
...didn't have the balls and now they are 420 $
When I look in the mirrow now I could slap my face...every once in a blue moon ... and I could have been sorted by now. Bummer !
