Cash for free?

Anyone had this happen before?:

I went to Bangkok Bank last week and withdrawed a larger amount of cash, (to high for ATM so i had to do it manually in their office).
Checked my account the day after and noticed the amount was reserved as expected.
Problem is now, i got the cash but the transaction was canceled for some reason. There was more then enough money on the account to do the transaction.. wich i guess they checked too, or they would never give me the money.
Called my bank in Norway and they had no idea what happened. they could only see the same thing as me: The amount was reserved, then the transaction was cancelled for some unknown reason..

Only thing i could do they said, was wait some days and see if they tried to charge my card again (VISA) or call BKK Bank and sort it out with them myself. (Im back in norway now and will do that if nothing happens in a couple of days).

Just hope im not wanted in Thailand for bank robbery right now

Just wait

Sometimes, at least when your ATM cvard is being used as a credit card, they'll check for approval of a certain amount and the bank will reserve that amount. However, if the transaction isn't completed after a certain period of time, the bank will lift the hold on that money. Eventually, though, the transaction should post.

Said it before.. My mate was buying a house.. moved over 3+ million and it was missing in the system for a few days.. He gave the bank a hard time around day 5 with proof it was sent.. They found the transaction and manually credited his account.. Next morning it was in his account 2x.

Called me asking for advice.. I told him to go get a duffel bag and we cleared the account in cash (millions of baht in 1000 baht notes takes some room).. Next day the bank started leaving messages and he lost his bottle and gave it back.

No free cash

Checked my account today: Transaction confirmed.

Not sure what happened there.. Strange thing to do, remove the reservation. If i wanted i could just have moved the money in the meantime canceled the card and never showed up in Thailand again.

But i would not do that for all the money in the world
