Any good Beer Bars for Sale?
I am once again looking for a beer bar to buy. My condo is going to be done in January, so I plan on going over there then and would like to look at buying a beer bar, would love something in Soi Tiger, but would look outside of Tiger if the bar was right.
My goal is to have something that will allow me a 1 year visa and bring in a little pocket money and also a great place to hang out at night. I don't want to work it or manage it, just own it.
Thanks for any help

I remember not too long ago that Bunny Bar in Soi Tiger was up for sale. Don't know if that has concluded or not. I would ask Geir as he may know?
Good luck on finding something and I hope you succeed where many have failed.
Cheers,
Ashley

Country bar / Soi Sea pearl
Just today I heard from a girl who works in the country bar in Soi Sea pearl that it was the last night this bar was open. It is closing down due to not longer contracts. Maybe this is something for you, I do hope so because this is a area [ opposite Salathai hotel, Sawatdirak road ] which must not closed down.

I would say it is stupid to buy a bar in Patong if you dont manage it by yourself. Patong is overpriced and if you buy a bar you need to take care of it, it doesnt run by itself.

Very good point Nicke. I think that buying a bar in Patong and having someone else run it is a very good way to spend your nest egg. Then again if your drink like Geir than maybe it is better to have someone else run it. Don't want to drink all the profits away! LOL
Cheers,
Ashley

Have to ask, but you are aware of all the visa rules. Owning a bar doesnt entitle you anything in regards to visas. Starting a company really complicates and increases your monthly outgoings, as in taxes.
Licenses have to be a Thai name or a company name. The later increases tax rates. It can be done, but it aint easy and/or straight forward. You need to speak with a good accountant/lawyer who is very conversant with the current, ever changing, rules.

Thanks for the info so far.. When I mean I won't manage it, I would manage it from the outside, not actually work the bar itself.

Bad timing coming in high season and looking to buy a bar, good ones thinking of selling will wait for high season to end, there's been some really good bars of late for sale and now sold, like James Dons, Full Monty, Bunny Ranch etc reckon might be better to come over take your time and meet with different owners get an inside knowledge and buy in low season??

Spend 6 months of every night in a bar.. Then see how you feel about one.. Also you will then know far more about the workings both legal and managerial / incedental and hear for yourself which ones are on the market..
