Just saw on Bloomberg that Nick Leeson (of Barings blow-up Rogue Trader fame) is considering trading again!

He says would only trade his own money - no surprise what financial organisation would have the balls or risk the image knock by giving him a trading limit.

Apparently he is now running an Irish soccer club - Galway Football Club.

Yeah he's been in Ireland for the last few years,married a Irish girl....

I think he has something to do with a football club in galway..he doesnt mange it something behind the scenes...

Read the wiki report K2,

what a risk taker he screams no experience from his actions and non use of money managment.

His move on the Japapese collapse was crazy looks like he did not even wait for a basic confirmation to go long!

Can't be live he is managing a football club, what a change!

Interesting read in Wiki. I can only imaging he has some kind of impressive (or bluffing) personality and is able to work people very easily.

Defo not the average Joe ;-)

I read his book about his experiences - pretty good but he doesn't come out of it without seeming foolish

Yeah the unsupervised nature of those guys then (and now in hedges) was shocking.. Ugly Americans is a good semi factual account of the same period.

Not sure if this some kind of joke,but Nick Leason died years ago.I think that he will find it hard to trade whilst 6 foot under.

He discovered he had colon cancer in Changi prison and was obviously treated for it as a guest of the state. He was eventually cured.

Hi Guys
I an confirm that Nick leeson is alive. I was talking to him last week. He is very much alive and doing well. As an earlier BM stated, he married a lovely Irish girl, has a lovely daughter and is well liked in galway. Of course he is due a second crack of the whip. By the way he has organised for Roy keanes Sunderland to come over and play Galway United. What a coup for Galway!
