Cause Of 97 Financial Crisis?
First time in Phuket was in 96, Marines and Navy(our ride) made a port call. The exchange of dollar was 25 baht. Then in 97, the crisis happend. The baht fell. In 98 port call, the exchange was 50 baht.
What was the reasons? Because of the current economy woes, is there a chance of happening again?

Well it wouldnt happen in the same way, as theres no peg to crash out of now..
But do I think a similar crash could happen ?? Me ?? The crash king !! Of course I think its possible  !! Actually overbuilding of condos on credit seems very much the go again !! Vietnam has its hyper inflationary spiral happening, lots of outliers that could be the black swan event.

Can anyone shed some light on what may be the cause of the financial problems in Vietnam at the moment...?
