Hi guys. I'll fess up that I've been a lurker since joining this forum awhile ago. But as already said by a few, there seems little to add at this stage whithout having made my first trip to LOS.

I would probably be considered a seasoned campaigner in numerous other haunts in SEA but for some reason I am always putting of my first time in Phuket.

It comes down to the fact that my current GF is Chinese and we have been on the verge of going our separate ways.So I have been figuring using this as an excuse to really shaft the relationship ( I am the reluctant party) and bonking my brains out. My only concern is what follows. Do I go for 10 days of mad fornication and return to OZ to move on. Should I go for a longer period and take it easy?(I have sufficient resources and time to make the trip somewhat open ended.

I've already survived an earlier mid-life crisis(screwed up a marriage etc) so I guess I need to have a more purposeful approach to this venture. I've got to say that reading this forum has provided heaps of good advice and will hopefullu steer me clear od some of themore obvious pitfalls re the LOS experience.

Anyway enough of the drivel, thanks again for providing some greatreading and more than the occasional laugh. I will let you know when I touch down in LOS ( current estimate is Jan 06 - I've really got to say justFu*%k it and draw a line thru my current unsatisfactory predicament.

best regards

Welcome aboard
If the choice is between a short or a long stay it would be very easy for me
Trust me, you will not get bored

Cool Longer trip

Welcome to the board.

Take a longer trip.If ten days includes travelling time then you won't have time to relax.Three weeks would be better and gives you time find your feet and suss the place out.

Also if you get a changeable ticket you can extend it.

Welcome smitten,

I can only recommend a longer trip. I have been to two rather short trips (both under 10 days) and I would have done anything to stay longer.

When I go back in January I will stay for 16 days so that will be much better

Welcome Smitten.

It's hard to stay too long. My last trip was for 3 weeks. That was not too long, so the next trip is for 3 months. Maybe some day I'll find the limit... but I doubt it.
