bringing liquor thru customs

posting here to avoid the if it's a dumb question

is it okay to bring liquor thru customs? i figure i'd bring it in my carry-on luggage so i don't risk any broken bottles? i assume it's okay- but how much is okay? I was thinking along the lines of say 2-3 handles of captain morgan's? The captain's they serve over there just doesn't taste the same- not sure what the deal is.

*post inspired by the pic of denver and the cokes

Duty free allowance

The duty free allowance will be applied to accompanied personal effects up to Bath 10,000 worth if i) the items are intended for your own personal or professional uses; ii) the quantity are reasonable; and iii) the items are not subject to prohibition or restriction.

However, there are limits on the amount of alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, cigars and smoking tobacco to which you may include in your duty free personal exemption as follows:

· 200 cigarettes or 250 grams of cigars or smoking tobacco

· 1 litre of spirituous liquor.

Personal effects do not include motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts regardless of the length of time used and owned.

Bring me tequila!

Please if you come here I will buy premieum tequila.
Patron all kinds, Cuervo La Familia, and any really expensive stuff.
The Tequila here in Thailand is terrible as far as bringing rum capt morgan is not really spiced as in the states. However Tequila is the prize we don't have here. If you bring me Patron silver or the really expensive cuervo I mentioned I would reimburse you and also buy you dinner at my restaurant

PM me if you get a chance.

Cheers!

Robert

I bring my own tequilla as well when I go to Thailand because I can't stand what is there and I'm fond of premium tequilla. I have never just brought in only what they say I can. I figure if they find it they can have it and if not I'm set for my typical 3 month duration of a stay. Several mamasans I visit are always happy when I bring in a bottle to share with them. I put this in my checked in luggage and wrap it up in bubble wrap to prevent breakage. Sofar it has worked everytime and never had a problem with customs thou I guess the odds are there. lol even more so now. /e waves to the BM that is a customs agent..
