Phuket Thailand

First off I'd like to apologize for posting my introduction on Tom's thread. It was clearly accidental. I did gain a valuable lesson on where to post certain topics. I promise to spend more time learning how to navigate the Forum.

As I previously stated, I'm soon to be 43, spent most of my life in the military and still marching on. I first visited the Forum just before I took my first trip to Thailand in October 05. I spent 15 days there and the information the Forum provide was excellent.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 15 days there. I traveled from Bangkok, to Samui, to Koh Phanagan, to Phuket to Chiang Mia and back to Phuket. I spent most of my time at Cape Panawa in Phuket. I probably spent more money than I should have on motels. But coming from a combat zone and then heading back afterwards, made me want to enjoy some of the finer things of life for a little while.

The information I found most useful from this site was what to expect and how to conduct myself in Thailand. I've been single all my life and after visiting Thailand, I'll probably be single a little longer.

When people ask me about my trip there, I just show them some of the pictures I took of the Temples and e.t.c When they ask me about the women, I just say they are beautiful and very friendly. When they say "That's bull. Now tell us what you really did." I just smile and say I had a really good time.

I'm heading back to the US in another month and I already have my ticket for my second visit in April. This time it will be a shorter trip and I probably will only visit 2 cities.

welcome Roaddawg to the forum. I love it a neewbie who takes advice..

Well it sounds like you got bitten by the bug my freind. Just ask questions from the fellow BM and they will be answered for you. Just dont forget to try using the search engine first where as most of your answers will be already anwsered on previous threads. Again welcome and enjoy the forum its very addicting so watch out. Stay safe in Kuwait and get your butt back to LOS again. Its never to late to be reborn...

I wouldn't sweat it to much. Each forum software is a little different and takes some getting use to. I posted my reply to the other thread it must have been the same time you deleted yours. lol I envey you I am just planning my first trip now.

Hi Roaddawg , welcome to the board , don't worry about posting in the wrong thread , you've already sorted that out. As the others have said , feel free to ask questions , but it is a bit more fun trying the "search" as you never know what will turn up (sometimes completely off the wall). There are a few ex -forces BMs , some bar owners , so I'm sure you'll fit in .

Are you planning on visiting Phuket in April , quite a few BMs out at that time , if you do , pop into MTB and have a beer or two or three or four.

Dont worry about it too much. I have moved lots of introductions from the middle of other threads to their own new thread, it happens all the time.

One other forum custom for all newbies, is to deposit 5000 baht into the paypal accounts of the forum moderators.

One piece of advice - If you slow down and only visit one place you can relax a lot better.
