Newbie leaving fro LOS in one week
It has been 18 years sense I have been to Thailand, visited Pattaya then, Patong this time.
Searching this forum has helped get reaquainted with Thailand and has helped with many details of my vacation planning. Everything from jet lag to hotels. Thanks for sharing your information on this forum.
I hope to meet up with a few gents at the MTB and having a drink or two, i'll be drinking water or soda. I will be traveling solo and it would be nice to have a wingman or ten a night or two. I will be diving most days, not sure how the late nights and long days will work out, I'll see.
Don't just live, be alive.

Hi WCB welcome to the forum.18 years is a long time to wait for a second trip, but better late than never.
I took my AOW last year in Patong and found it a little difficult to juggle the girls, nightlife and diving during those days.Best thing for me was to short time a girl early in the evening so I wasn't picking one up and boom booming at 2:00am when I needed to be sleeping.Sacrifices,sacrifices.
If you can find the Mai Thai Bar in Soi Eric, you will meet some friendly BM's.Check the members arrival list to see who's gonna be there and have a great trip!

Welcome WCP, nice to have you on board. How did you handled it not to go to LOS again for 18 Years? Well, i think for your third trip you won´t wait again 18 years.

Hi WCP
Welcome to the board. You will find that Patong is as busy as Pattaya was 18 years ago. There is plenty to do and early nights don't stop you having fun.

18 years is a long time, I was in the Navy then. After the Navy I got caught up in dating girls in the US. Actually had a one year relationship with a girl for Mexico in there also.
As for girls, nightlife and diving goes I will have to manage. I don't drink so I find it easy to get up in the morning and not feel to bad.
Thanks guys

Hi all
Im going to Phuket in a week (1st timer) and likely to be like Mustang and some of you other guys, not up for late nights so a ST girl in the afternoon or evenings will probably suit me. I read elsewhere on the forum references to what a BGs apartment/room looks like. I wondered from that if its actually common to go back to a girls place rather than to the guys hotel? Also given Ill have to travel accross to Patong from Phuket City (where Ill be staying), are there places where you can go - even during the day - and check out the girls, pick one out and where they actually have rooms there for ST liaisons? I guess Im thinking of the old fashioned Australian Brothel, are there such places?
Thanks for any tips

Some hotels will do it. I used the hotel closest to C&N (other side of Mr Good.

sleep on the dive boat on the way out and way back, then have a big lunch and go to sleep for a few hours, wake up and party, go to sleep early AM with your BG and start all over again the next morning. if I could not sleep in afternoon got a massage and fell right asleep.
Just be careful about the alcohol consumption and Nitrox can be a great thing, lot more energy and if you dive an air profile it makes you more conservative and therefore safer.

Christins Massage is similair set up to an Australian Brothel.....will cost you about 2000 to 2500 baht. Expensive in thai terms but sounds what you are looking for.
It's on Rat-u-chit Rd......south of Bangla.....Tuk Tuk drivers know it so just say "Christins"

I have found myself sleeping on more than one dive boat. It sounds like the rides are long enough and the boats big enough to catch a few Z's on the water.
I will have to look into diving Nitrox, not used it for a few years. I'm not actually qualified but I could always take the class there.
Thanks

Look into it for sure, it is so much safer and you'll have more energy after your dives. I've been diving it for over ten years now and pretty much refuse to dive on straight air. I'll be coming into Patong late next week also but I think I am going to leave the BC and regs at home. Don't feel like lugging them half way across the world. Probably just do some free diving.

have a great trip. Hope you have some great dives, both in the water and in the bed.
Don't forget to stop by MTB and meet the Forum's host, Nicke and his wife, Ead. And then go to the other BM's bars.
