Advice on things to Bring along
Hi Guys,
One day left here in sunny Perth before arriving in LOS.
Any advice of what to bring along as sweetners. Found referencies about Chocolates, Baileys, and Jasmin Rice.
Also any request (within reason!)

Hi Westcountry - welcome, hope you ahve a load of fun here.
Forget about the jasmin rice - mountains of that here already - Baileys - have that too. Chocolate goes down well as chocolate here tastes synthetic.
Travel light its 35'C here - you'll need empty space in your suitcase to take stuff back! If you can bar towels would be good - as cant buy them here! I guess a free beer or 2 would be in order if you pop into Angels Bar with them. Of course go down to sat Hi to Nicke at Mai Tai Bar (Soi Eric) - and see what other BM's are around.
Cheers mate.

Hi K2,
Thanks for the reply.
Might try the local for some bar mats (towels) tomorrow - will have to see who is behind the bar. Not sure where to buy them here.
Chocolate will be from duty free as it would melt in the luggage.
I am travelling light over, more or less empty case. I expect it will be full on the way home - I might have to buy a second one.
I will make a point of stopping at Angels - nice name for a bar there.
Best Regards

I like my coffee, and I had a heck of a time finding a cup that was not instant. Sun screen is really expensive, so next time I am bringing both items.
A 110 to 240 voltage converter is another suggestion.

A non instant coffee can be found quite easily.
A voltage convertor for someone coming from Oz is not required
Ticket and passport is always a good idea.

Packed and ready to go
Hi Garybar
Got wot I got, and cards in case - and cards for the dental work. Want to get that underway in the first week, then I might get out around the island or even further for a few days. where are you, Kamalba?
Might catch you around, Regards, Westcountry

I was cleaning up my garage last night and found 2 classic bar mats the old tooheys type. Not to sure if Angels is still looking for some or any other bar needs them. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Yes but the votage isnt.
The newer style power sockets, you can actually get an Oz plug into them, if you try hard enough.

Here are my essentials, all of which I can get out there.
I needn't have taken the bottle opener (Though I never leave home without one!) There was one in the Mini-bar.

If you have bigger feets than a 10 year old kid you must bring with you some sandals
Its a must if you dont want to go barefooted.

Am I missing something here Jim?
How is a cigarette lighter going to open a bottle of beer?

They are going to have to many bar mats if you and I bring em over. I will also be there next week so may see you around.
Anything for a free beer mate but within reason I mean I'm not going to kiss a bloke or anything like that but I may jump off a bridge for one.
Cheers

Ah yes, the bottle opener thread! I can remember a time I used to open bottles with my teeth! I can put my tongue there now where the teeth used to be!
Yep, can still open the suckers with a lighter, but after taking cheapo plastic lighter splinters out of my thumb after one disintegrated on me I don't do it anymore!
I do have a piercing I can open bottles with.............I'll show it you on my next trip over. Always good for a laugh in the bar and lots of blood if it goes wrong!
Useless fact time for you: Uzi Submachine Guns have a bottle opener built into them for those coke breaks between battles with Egyptians! Amaze your friends with that one!
I see lots of folk want decent coffee and I think there has been a thread somewhere on that. I use my urge for coffee to get my lardy butt out of bed and round to Scruffy Murphys with my mug. Free refills before the urge for the first cold one kicks in!
