help me get holiday visa for girlfriend for ireland
Can someone please help me?
I have discovered that it is very difficult for my girlfriend to get a visa to visit me in Ireland for a holiday. We requested a visa for a 4 week holiday for her but she was refused.
They gave the following reasons.
1. They didn't believe we had met (unbelievable since my passport was stamped and they had photographs of us together)
2. They said she might not go back to Thailand as she didn't have enough socio-economic ties in her own country. (why anyone wouldn't want to go back to Thailand is beyond me)
Maybe she should have said her mother was sick or something?
Does anyone know of an office which might be able to assist us in Bangkok. I thought if i could pay someone to help her with the documentation, she may have better luck next time.
Please help us......

Once a country denies a visa, a stamp is normally put in the back of the passport, so any further attempts with that passport, become even harder.

first she has to show that she has a certain sum of money in a thai bank account --so that she is willing to go back after she has had her "visit" to ierland or where-ever,abroad-
also she has to prove that she has been a "good girl" --not a bar girl -definatly no tattoos
-and has run some kind of legit buesness(as she may well have done)
if these criterea are not met immediatey by the authoritys-- -- theres no hope-- a second application is a waste of money
go and live with her in thailand is the only option left

It's tough this, but my experience is that no means no. You got something wrong with your original application and are now pretty firmly on their radar. If they are saying she has no reason to go back, I would think that they already have her history so changing your story is a non-starter.
Agent's can help, but 2nd applications seem very difficcult. There is loads of good info on the board about UK visas, but no magic wand I'm afraid.
One thing that is worth mentioning. My buddy got his girl a visa for NZ by lodging a cash bond with the embassy.

Same rules all around Europe. You need to stand garant for (finance) her to get a visa. Because she got no money. You only can ask for a garant in your own country and not in Bangkok. After receiving she can go ask for a 3 months touristvisa and have to show a return ticket to.
It has noting to do if she is a bargirl or have tattoo's.

So what exactly did you do?
Did you have to prove you could financially support her?
Did she have many dependents/reasons to go back to Thailand... ie Children, House?
Had she ever had a tourist visa before?

Nice telephone number , how about a bit more information.
Are they an agency/lawyer , have you used them , success rate, costs etc.
Posting only a number does not really help anyone , if you have details it would useful if you supplied them.

just about to apply will keep u informed
hi guys....
firstly mate just applied for visa and got the same shit....declined because he only knew her 4 months and although she has a child which her parents where happy to look and care for while she had a holiday in england and she owned property and has money in the bank...they believed that she would not return.....maybe she should have left the 5 yr old to live in a cardboard box and to fend for herself then she would of had a reason to return... She was made to stand for 2.5 hours during an interview whilst beinging called a liar about the paper work and application... its totally beyond me mate what the hell they want i think it depends on the day of application....if they have had their leg over the night before and are semi happy then you may be in with a slim chance..
The thing you have to remember is that you have some fat lard arsed western lady (lady ha bloody ha) looking at your girlfriend who has more manners culture and who is how a woman should be stunningly beautiful....i have just booked my flight tickets and upon telling the girl at the counter were i was going for the 3rd time in 12 months the response was...i quote" my ex went out there and brought back a thai fooking prostitue.." western women are threatend by them and for what...???
my application goes forward to the gestapo workers in 3 weeks.....a copy of my presentation folder has been sent to my girlfriend (who i have been with for a year) who has all the possible dates and info so she can learn everything that she does'nt know about me already which is'nt much...and it has been proof read by thai lawyers who say they could not fault the folder and info contained inside.....every angle has been covered and crossed referenced.....it has taken 2 months to complete and put together......
so bring on the thumb screws and hose pipes and lets see what happens....
failing that i might smuggle her to france put her on the eurostar train and tell her to call herself mrs allah......she will be allowed into the country given a house, car, mobile phone and medical and dental yes dental treatment( ) for free....
will keep you informed on the latest interrogation techniques shortly...

Come on n cee?
From what you have wrote, You have obviously gone through the application process, Or else why would you tell Andy he was wrong, If you have, It would be nice of you to try and help out your fellow countryman with his application, And anyone else on here who is thinking about applying......
You have been on this board nearly 2years now (longer than me), And have made 6posts, So obviously you have got some good advice and info from this board in that time, Maybe now is the time to put something back into the forum?

OMG that was a bit rich shagfest, did she really say that to you at the counter?
That was not a nice thing to say to a customer. It would be funny to see what she would say if you asked her "why do you think he left you and went out to Thailand and brought back a prostitute"????? 5555555

Im not trying to flame you here!!!
but where did you get this information from? have you done this before, is there some guidline that says this
None of the advice you have given is my experience or the guidlines laid down by the UK FCO
EACH APPLICATION IS TREATED ON ITS OWN MERITS
It took me 3 & the wife 3 attempts to be successful with the UK embassy, all done within 18 months
I have written about this before if anyone cares do a search

trying to help
Hi Aly,
It's been a long time since I posted. My Thai GF has been here (Belgium) for 3 months ... August till Nov 2005.
I can confirm that we needed to show that she had a certain amount of money on her bank account. This was no hustle trick. Because she had herself +/- 30.000 Bath on her account, so I did not need to sponsor this.
What also might help is a sort of prove that she has a job in Los. Some agencies charge +/- 1500 to 2000 Baht for this in Thailand. So if she's a BG without a real job ... you can buy this "proof of job" quite easily.
For me it worked after waiting +/- 2 months.
Good luck
Steven

I think applications where you both apply together seem to have much higher success ratio than ones where she goes in alone with some bits of paper..

During my time at the US embassy on this last trip that seemed to be the case there. If a thai or cambodian went at it alone they were offered no additional help except for their visa denial or acceptance. If there were any issues or questions to be asked, if an american was there along with the thai, then they would ask the american or give directions to them in order to resolve the issue.
I am very glad that I went along with my gf to help out with her visa. If not I do not think she would have received it as there was a missing document.
