Really Newbie Question about the Nightlife...
So, in reading the forums in preparation for my first trip to Phuket (and BKK), it seems that it's mostly BGs that are hanging out in the bars... my question is if there are any non-BG women (i.e. 'non-professionals') who frequent the bars? (Or maybe it varies from bar to bar?)

Hi Brian -
Welcome to the board - as far main tourist bar areas the majority of girls hanging out would be BG. There would be few farang (non-Thai/western women) but even if there was a non-BG at a bar, its unlikely you would be able to tell. Many will tell you that they just started 'working' and they can spot a newbie 2 blocks away. The non-BG's tend to go to extremely high volume discos 'en masse' with big group of girls & Thai guys, often relations (cousins, brothers etc) or kareoke joints. May be better that you ask newbie Q's in Newbie forum to which this post will probably be moved to shortly. Enjoy your trip.
