Is April a good time to go to Patong?!

Hi all, not posted before but have been read the forum for research before my 2 other trips to LOS and found it very usefull.

As mentioned above i've been to Thailand twice before and am planning a 3rd trip for the very near future. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what Patong is like in late April?! (as its considered to be the beggining of rainy/off-peak season). Is it busy? Whats the weather like?
Reason im asking is because ive been twice before in Nov and Jan (supposedy high season) and it was lively and the weather was fantastic. Would it be woth me rushing rushing a trip asap to get a better atmos & weather etc whilst the weather is still ok or is it ok in April, having never experianced an off-peak season in Thailand im unsure of the extremities of the weather or if all the bars etc suddenly become half empty.

Hi jma173
Welcome to the forum.

As Marc26 has said,April is probably the hottest month, and very humid.
Its still very busy and Songkran can be good fun. There is occasional rain in April, usually heavy evening showers, but nothing to put off a holiday.
Here is a link to the weather in Patong for the last few years-

Book that holiday, you know you want to

mid April after Songkran reverts from High season to Low season so it is much cheaper for accomodation etc then.........it is also the start of the build up to the wet season around then so as the boys above have said it gets very hot and very humid...........it's still a geat time to go if you like it hot and is better than the full on wet season which can last up until November....even December as it did this season

Cool April if great

April is a good time to come here. The weather is still hot and the rains in the last few years have not happened until September.Prices are cheaper and the bars are all still open.
You also have the Phuket Bike Week sometime near Songkhran.
