Another Newbie
G'Day all. I thought that being new to this board I should be polite and introduce myself.
I am a 52YO Australian resident of Scots descent. I work as a consultant on major projects around the world and my family and I have lived in many different countries. Although we think Australia is the best place we have ever lived, LOS is our favourite holiday destination. We visit Phuket twice a year and on our last visit we changed from the big resorts out of town to staying at Patong. I have teenage kids who love the place and are seldom seen except shopping. My missus likes to laze around the pool all day and I like to roam the bars meeting people. At night after a good meal we like to visit bangla road and just soak up the environment and play games and talk with the BG's and staff. We think the Thai people are very nice and friendly and we never worry about splashing around some cash to buy them drinks. The times that the kids have gone to bars with us, the BG's make a big fuss over them and play games with them. They surely are lovely people. We are coming back 10 March for 16 nights and hope to meet some of you at MTB. We will be staying at the Holiday Inn. BigBill

Nice one BigBill,
There are quite a few threads concerning Phuket and in particular Patong being a 'Family' holiday destination. Good to hear you think that's so. Welcome to the board. Take care and hope to see you and the folks down Bangla way sometime soon. Denver

Thanks for the welcome. I joined the board after looking at it for a few weeks as I realised that it was a great way to keep in touch with whatever is happening in Phuket. It is also very interesting reading the debates that go on as I have many single friends who visit LOS and I am familiar with many of the places and topics discussed and after all, I was once young and single. I just get my kicks a different way now.

Dizz - you almost got it right
300lbs prime scots beef 3 rooms at Busakorn wing for 16 nights plus 6 airfares and wife in spa every 2 or 3 days. All in all = 1 big fool as we do it twice a year I should just have enough left for a few ales at MTB and then back to the bush to earn enough for the next time
