Smile First time

Hi all

Great site

First time in LOS and really looking forward to it. getting outta blighty.gonna be there 11-3 onwards, will be traveling on my own so allittle nervouse...can anyone tell me about bar fine, do you pay the staff? is it overt? ie anything to worry about

Thinking of staying at the Patong villa, any good?? read a thread about someone spitting dummy out about a bottle of water ( are the staff a pain)

Allso wanna learn to dive...any good cheap places

hi JD,
welcome aboard. agree with IJ plenty of good info in various threads.

one word of caution - beware 'cheap' diving instruction

virtually all reputable providers will be PADI-affiliated and prices will be pretty similar, expect to pay round 10k baht for 3-4 day Open Water course. enjoy it, guy, you'll have a blast.

welcome to the board mate, im off to LOS on the 4th of march, also on my own , and also a little nervous so id be willing to hook up for a few beers with you if your into it mate,

As far as Patong Villa goes, heaps of BM's have stayed there and have had no problems
