Hi all, I dont know where to put this thread as I'm a newbie ,

Iv'e only got 9 days till I come over again and cant wait! Wahoooo (oh thats a fish!) lol. I am starting in Chiang Mai then staying in Patong for one night of beer and stuff then off to Kata for a relax and an ocasional pop into patong when I fancy. While I am in Kata I will visit a bar that I go to each time I go to LOS, here I have friends that cook for me and I would like to catch some fish for them. I fished off longtails last year an cought nothing so it was off to the market to buy one. My question is what fish are edible and is there a chart of them or would the locals tell me when (if) i cought one if I could eat it. All I want to do is get just one big enough for 5 people, and take it back and have a nice celibration with my friends. Any Idea?

Sorry I forgot to put. Does anyone know of a good fishing group to use. Thanks

We did a charter boat trip from Chalang (1800baht) and caught loads of tuna and a fairly big dorado.

The lady at the Expat was well pleased with the tuna we gave her, and the cook BBQd us one. I can honestly say it was some of the best fish I ever had.

Go to Chalong pier, or arrange a trip. It's teeming with tuna and dorado.

Thanks for the info Steve. Aussie, I did a seach but none of the sites that came up told me if I could eat them or not. Mainly Fishery acts for phuket. I will ask when I catch one=, if I catch one! 8 days and counting.....

Cheers again. This forum is well good. Lots of info and great stories. I'm on it all the time now. I'm going to pop into the MTB and have a beer or two i've been watching the web cam. Its a bit blurred but never mind you can see the bar is always full. Hope you are all haveing a good time if you are in Phuket!

Nicke has just bought a new web cam , waiting for it to be delivered and installed then you will get a much better idea of what's happening. Lots of BM's out for Songkran , so bar will be jumping !!!!!

Sorry Werwolf for the delay in replying. I leave 11th march UK. Going to Chaing Mai for 6 days then fly down on the 17th. Staying at a place in Patong for a night and then on to Kata for the rest of my stay. On a side note: (being a newbie) what should I do... Last time I came I was sitting in a bar and said to the girl I am off for a massage, 10 mins later I came back as all the massuses were on the large side. She laughed, I sat down and had another beer. ABout 15 mins later this fit looking girl walks into the bar and the girls said she was for me for a massage. We went back to the hotel room and I just had a normal non naughty massage. After we went back to the bar and I had more beers. Later the new girl asked if I wanted to go to Patong and look around. So I did. She said that she had to meet her friend in Tiger, so we did. Later the three of us went to Safari, I didnt mind paying for drinks as It was good to have some female company after the mrs leaving me. Anyway I ended up with her minus her mate for the next 4 days. Staying at the hotel sleeping and the rest ;0). No talk of money was made The next day I said I was going shopping, we jumped on her bike and off we went. I gave her 1500 baht to get some things if she wanted to. And so it went on till I left. This was last year. She rang me throughout the year, I got a girlfriend here then split up, Called the Thai girl and told her I was coming over in marh. She called this Saturday to see what date I was arriving. I told her the 17th. I have just this mo spoken to here again and she asked what hotel I was staying in, I said same as last year. THEN! she asked if I was fat or skinny......she didnt even remember me. Just had a phone number and a name. So.... what should I do lads, this must have happened to some of you at one time. I said I will meet her in the bar we met at last year, she said OK. Shall I just pretend that I know she does not remember me or find another girl for the week? by the way I will Def be coming to the Mai Thai Bar on Friday night 17th for a couple. I hope I meet some of you there.

If you want a live in GF for your trip then call her, if you want to play around though watch what you arrange. Personally, I would skip it and find your feet when you get there but, of course, it's up2u

For got to add. She works in a massage palour during the day. I asked if she was like a bargirl at night to which she replied no. I didnt care really I wanted some company so put it to the back of my pickled head for analysis later. (A year later! lol). Do you get honest girls that work in palours? I'm thinking now, What do they do at night if they dont live here in the winter. Me thinks they are all bargirls at night.!

Let me get this straight..

You meet a slim massage girl who comes into your bar and hauls you out..

You sleep with her the first night and then give her 1500 baht the next day..

You do this over and over for the duration...

Shes forgotten what you look like but shes happy to just meet you anyway (presumably to resume the screwing and 1500 bahts)..

And your not sure if shes being honest about turning tricks on the side ???

erm... Now how to answer this delicately.. Back once I have sussed that..

And no need to ditch her.. Just cause shes working, theres no harm in that.. Lets face it most of the ones that you will have any contact with are working in one way or another..

Well I think it depends...it might be a blessing.

I always ask the same question "does it really matter" it seems to me if your just trying to have a good time then no worries, do this or that what's the difference...Its all in how you look at things and where you place your values.

Give the girl a break, how's a girl suppose to keep all those guys straight in her head...she'd have to keep a photo album of them all and that would get way too large to carry around...Relax and enjoy yourself...Don't sweat the small stuff....btw its all small stuff.

well I just got an e-mail from a girl in the PI that I was with 2 years and a year and a half ago, thanking me for a gift that I gave her and telling me that she got her scuba diving certification.

Wow, I must have made some kind of impression

Of course it had been over a 15 months since I had heard from her the last time.

But of course she wants to see me again.

. And she knows that I was within someone else the last time I stayed on her island. I better bring my bulletproof vest.
