The story is: Had a fantastic time in LOS in February. Most of the time together with this very nice and kind lady. We have been in contact every day since I came home, and making some plans for here visiting me this summer. Going in to low season in Phuket, she is planning to go home next month. I told here I would like to pay for the trip home. So I told here to give me her account number, and I will send her some money. But she refuses to do so! Is there some cultual thing I don't understand?

IMHO, as gary says, it's the bigger money game. First she seems to shy and tell she doesn't want money for the trip (it would mean maybe 5000 bath?) to be able to ask more afterwards because a sick buffalo, dead parent or something else ... All is about money in LOS... and I have never seen a TG shying about it

You had a good time, OK. She doesn't want money now, even better. Note that next month is Songkran and a lot of ladies go to the family.
Maybe after Songkran you both can decide what to do, she comming to Europe, or you going over there.
But don't put your wishes to high, it can work well, or not well. You never know.

Some girls doesn't have any bank accounts. Maybe that is the problem.

Thank you all. It's all clear to me. She is loaded with BHT, and don't want to send me any to cure my sick polar bear and dead parents for four years. Thank you IJ for not shouting at me. It's always fun to read your post.
