Newcomer looking for info....
Let me first start out by saying hello to all. I have been reading the posts for about a month and a half now and decided to join because a buddy and I are taking a trip to Patong in Aug.
My buddy reserved our 2 rooms at the Bamboo Club so if anyone has info on that particular hotel that would be great. Also what is the weather like that time of year??
Besides MTB where else would you all recommend going seeing how we will be there for 10 nights. We are both ready for a vacation and looking forward to the trip and living it up at MTB.
That is all for now. Can't wait to hear from all the members who wish to supply info.
Thanks,
CubFan3771

Welcome to the board. Would be nice to hear about you and if you have been to los before!
August is the rainy season so maybe take an umbrella. Check out Phi phi island, James Bond Island...........grab a bike and cruise down past all the beaches down to Cape Panwa at sunset

Thanks for the info thus far... Please keep it coming..
The info thus far has been greatly appreciated. As you have asked a little more about me. I have been working in the Middle East for nearly 2 years and haven't really had a "real" vacation. I have done my share of world travel but have not been to this part of the world yet. August will be mine and my buddy's first adventure. I have gazed at the MTB web-cam and looks like a great place.
So I hope to hear from more members with great insight about the area and things to do.

Why does he have to give any information about himself when you can't answer anyone else's questions?

bamboo club is a pretty decent hotel. a little out of the way but there is motorbike taxis right at the bottom of th driveway to take you to the bars
if your there for 10 days, id suggest renting a motorbike and driving around the island, go up to kata, karon, surin and laem sing beach
as far as other places to go, stop by MTB, there will be experienced bm's there and you will soon find out the lay of the land

Hi Cub Fan,
Like Tally said do a search through the forum for things that you are interested in and then if you have more specific questions then ask away.
As to where to go at night, it depends upon what you are interested in.
Go Go Bars
Dragon
Suzy Wong's (owned by a BM)
Angels and Champagne (Owned by a BM)
Love Bar
Faulty Towers for a meal or 2
Taipan, Baya, and Safari Discos
You will find out what you like when you get there.
Daytime
Laem Sing and Surin beaches
Phi Phi Island
you name it there are a lot of places to go

Quick question ruby123 , why do you expect others to tell you any info about themselves when you ignore posts asking you the exact same thing.

Since you seem to like giving the rest of us the benefit of your experience , perhaps you'd care to give us a bit of background information about yourself. Where do you live , your location says Los , are you there now or do you actually live in another country. Also , how many times have you visited Phuket and what bars do you normally drink in , some BM's may have met you in the past.
The majority of BM's will happily accept advice , if they know the person giving it has "walked the walk" and is not just someone trying to "talk the talk".So, if you want to be taken seriously and not as yet another sh*t stirrer , give a honest reply to this post.

Welcome to the board. For the most important info the search functions is really the best you can do. I would say its worthless to make a plan of your trip because after the first dax and "night" you will through it away anyway. Best thing to do is go with the flow. And if you have found a nice girl she will show you everything else were to go. For good advices during your stay i would recommend to visit MTB. So i wish you and your buddy a nice trip

Welcome
The Bamboo is on the southern part of Nanai Road. There are some bars and cafes near by.Also look into the Le Jardin which has swimming pool and sauna on offer.
I would not recommend a James Bond Island tour to anyone. There are better tours about.Sea state in August could mean rough weather for boats anyway.
Hopefully see you for a beer or two.

Maybe ruby123 isn't the sharpest knife and sometimes really anoring, but I think it a shame that everytime he posts something it more or less hijacks the thread with a discussion about him...

Hey all,
Sorry I haven't gotten back sooner just been busy with work. Thanks to everybody who gave me some pointers. I look forward to going to MTB and meeting everyone I can. Will try to get into some of the other chats. As long as I have some knowledge of their subjects.
